Mental health care is health care and it deserves the same attention, access, and support.

On World Health Day, we're reminding everyone that caring for your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health.

We get asked a lot: what exactly does One SAFE Place do?

We are Shasta County's center for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and trafficking. We are not just a shelter. We are advocates who walk alongside you. Navigators who know the system. A team that believes you from the moment you reach out.

This month, we want you to know us. Because knowing us means knowing where to turn when someone you love needs help.

Here When It Matters. Here When You Need Us.

Every child deserves safe, quality health care from the very beginning.

But far too many children worldwide are put at risk by unsafe care. Due to their rapid development, evolving health needs, and reliance on adults. Children are particularly vulnerable when health care is not designed for their unique requirements.

🧸 Weight
🧸 Development
🧸 Medical needs
🧸 Ability to communicate
🧸 Context

Even a single safety incident can have lifelong consequences for a child’s health and development.

Patient safety from the start -- is a reminder that begins with safe, child-centred care.

It’s National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and we are sharing this message with anyone who might need to hear it today:

Violence and abuse are serious problems. Young children, even babies, are affected when they see or hear violence. Abuse can be physical, verbal, or emotional. As an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE), abuse can have lasting physical and emotional effects, and it can happen to anyone.

No one, not even a family member, has the right to be violent or abusive. Do not be afraid to seek help for children, yourself, or those you may know.
