Anyone who knows me, knows I am an animal lover-- especially cats. This story was so heartbreaking, I just had to share. I hope the person who did this is found.

UPDATE: Reward is now $1550!!

Thank you everyone for your kind words, financial donations, and mutual anger about Dot's senseless killing. As you can imagine, this has been a very emotionally difficult time for us, and your support really does help us cope. We also want to take a moment to thank fellow rescuers Sara Gresham, Patricia Lind, Wayne Seigmund, NCC volunteer Sharon Theisen Dr. Joanna Proctor at Millville Veterinary Clinic. All of you came together to try to save Dot's life, and we couldn't thank you more.

Two important updates:

1) We are now offering a $200 REWARD for information leading to an arrest for of the individual(s) responsible for shooting and killing Dot with a small crossbow. The exact date Dot was shot is unknown, but it was during the week of Feburary 24th, around Oasis Rd and Lake Blvd in Redding, CA. If you or someone you know has any information, please email us at northstatecatcoalition@gmail.com. If you prefer to remain anonymous, please mention this in the email and your information will not be shared.

2) Dot's tragic and cruel death has drawn the attention of the media. His story is being aired TONIGHT, March 6th, on CBS and NBC. Special thanks to Action News Now for reaching out to us and to Joetta Ferguson for posting about Dot in the large Redding Crime and Community Alert/Shasta County. We hope this story will help us catch Dot's killer.
