According to ACS ~ Mammogram: Women in their 20s and 30s should have a clinical breast exam (CBE) as part of a regular exam by a health expert, preferably every 3 years. After age 40, women should have a breast exam by a health expert every year. It might be a good idea to have the CBE shortly before the mammogram. You can use the exam to learn what your own breasts look and feel like. www.cancer.org

According to ACS - The American Cancer Society recommends that some women -- because of their family history, a genetic tendency, or certain other factors -- be screened with MRI in addition to mammograms. (The number of women who fall into this category is small: less than 2% of all the women in the US.) Talk with your doctor about your history and whether you should have additional tests at an earlier age. .

According to the ACS.... FACT: Insurance companies begin covering many cancer screenings - like mammogram, colonoscopies and PSA tests - because the American Cancer Society helps get laws passed requiring them to do so.

Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way; it can be a close family member, friend, co-worker or even YOU!
