I didnāt grow up playing D&D. I found it as an adult. And it found me.
I used to think I just liked watching actual plays and obsessing over character builds.
But somewhere between the podcast arcs, the homebrew lore, and the emotional monologues that cracked me open, I realized something:
This wasnāt just fantasy.
This was possibility.
For the first time, I saw what it looked like to:
š§ Hyperfixate and be celebrated for it
š¬ Speak boldly, awkwardly, honestlyāand still be loved
š Unmask without punishment
š„ Imagine myself as someone powerful, emotional, weird, and wanted.
I wasnāt too old. I wasnāt too much. I wasnāt broken.
I just needed a world where the rules made sense.
A world where the weird kid archetype is actually the main character.
If youāve ever found pieces of yourself in the dice rolls of strangers, or cried over a podcast episode where someoneās bard apologized for survivingā¦hi. I see you.
You didnāt need to grow up playing to find yourself here now.
