Before pursuing certification as a coach in any niche, it’s essential to verify whether the program aligns with the standards set by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

As a social psychologist, licensed psychotherapist, and certified NeuroCoach, I caution against any neuroscience-based coaching program that claims to offer certification in just one week. Such marketing is misleading and does not reflect the depth and rigor required for effective, evidence-based practice.

Use your executive brain—your prefrontal cortex—to evaluate these offerings critically, rather than relying on emotional or impulsive decision-making.

Statement of Condolence
To Bishop Frank Anthone White and the White Family:

On behalf of the Faith-Based Counseling Department we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and the entire White family on the transition of your beloved mother, Evangelist Dr. Juliet L. White, a cherished matriarch, spiritual mother, and pillar of Zion Cathedral Church of God in Christ.

Dr. Juliet L. White was a woman of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and profound wisdom. She ministered to many not only through her titles, but through her tender nod, knowing smile, fervent prayers, and those timely “right now” words that comforted hearts, confirmed callings, and stirred souls. She was a living testament to the power of a godly woman — graceful in presence, powerful in prayer, and steady in counsel.

Her legacy will forever be woven into the fabric of Zion Cathedral and the broader body of Christ. May you find comfort in knowing that her life was a gift to the Church and her impact eternal.

We mourn with you, we honor her, and we pray that God, the Father of all comfort, will surround you with His peace, presence, and sustaining grace in the days to come.

With deepest sympathy and love,

Renee D Charles, PhD
Christian Counseling President

I read a post today written by a person of Mexican heritage attempting to explain why they don't like dark skin people like black folks. He said it is cultural, stemming from the Spaniards who ingrained the thought that the lighter your skin, the more you are like whites, and the darker your skin is associated with being black and less good. Knowledge is power when you understand the origin of a thing. If the context is wrong, the conclusion will also be incorrect. Unconscious bias arises from deep-seated systemic and media-induced racism. It is a strategy employed by white enslavers to sow division and cultivate both self-hatred and external disdain within similar cultures based on skin color. This challenge impacts both Black individuals and lighter-skinned descendants of formerly enslaved people in comparable ways. This effective tactic has persisted since the dawn of enslavement and continues to be relevant today.

It's crucial to recognize that race is not a biological concept but a political one; ultimately, there is only one race—the human race. Terms like "Mexican," "Hispanic," "Dominican," and "Haitian" are not classified as races; instead, they refer to ethnicities. Individuals should reflect on the biological origins of their heritage. Importantly, DNA research shows that the genealogy of the human race is interconnected with Africa.

My recently published book "From Sacrifice to Service: Women Embracing Wholistic Ministry" equips women for holistic ministry by providing a transformative call to action rooted in the prophetic imperative of Romans 12:1. It challenges the conventional view of ministry as merely an act of service and instead reveals a life wholly surrendered to God's divine purpose.

The book emphasizes a sacred preparation process of clothing oneself at three-dimensional levels—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—to walk in wholeness, divine alignment, and spiritual authority. It stresses that dressing for ministry is not just external but a sacrifice unto God, requiring individuals to adorn themselves in resilience, wisdom, and faith.

Furthermore, the book offers biblical wisdom, personal reflection, and practical strategies for those ministering in various settings, such as worship, public outreach, hospitals, jails, or the streets. It underscores that faithful ministry is about how one lives, presented as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God. A must reading for ambassadors of Christ and committed to the commission of gospel ministry.
