Path to Independence

The first student started in a pilot project at UNR in August 2013.

๐ŸŒŸ March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Nevada! ๐ŸŒŸ

We are proud to share that Joe Lombardo has officially proclaimed March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in the State of Nevada.

This proclamation recognizes the strength, leadership, and contributions of Nevadans with developmental disabilities and reaffirms our collective commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and opportunity for all.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is a time to:
๐Ÿ’™ Celebrate the voices and achievements of individuals with disabilities
๐Ÿ’™ Promote inclusive communities where everyone belongs
๐Ÿ’™ Advocate for systems that support independence, dignity, and self-determination
๐Ÿ’™ Highlight the importance of employment, education, and community living

At the Nevada Governorโ€™s Council on Developmental Disabilities, we believe that disability is a natural part of the human experience โ€” and our communities are stronger when everyone is included.

Join us this month as we spotlight stories, resources, and ways you can help advance equity and opportunity across our state.
