Join us in welcoming Keypher Steffanich, MPAS, PA-C, to our orthopedic team! 👏

Keypher is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in orthopedics, proudly serving patients in Carson City. She earned her Master of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University Nevada and her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Before PA school, Keypher worked as a medical assistant, gaining hands-on experience that fueled her passion for orthopedics. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every visit.

Keypher’s care is rooted in understanding each patient’s individual goals. She is dedicated to helping patients return to the activities they love—whether it’s skiing, golfing, or keeping up with their kids and grandkids—through personalized treatment plans and compassionate care. Her fascination with the human body and its unique capabilities inspired her to pursue a career in orthopedics, recognizing that no two patients are exactly alike.

Originally from Nevada, Keypher enjoys staying active and exploring new experiences outside the clinic. Her hobbies include golfing, reading, crafting, scuba diving, and working out at the gym. She and her husband love to travel, with Thailand being her favorite destination so far.

We’re so excited to have Keypher on board and look forward to the incredible care she’ll provide to our community! 💙

Community Engagement & Provider Collaboration 🤝

Marcy Echevarria, Physician Liaison, partnered with Nicole Lorenzi-Abrott, Physician Relations Manager for Northern Nevada Medical Group and Hospital Systems, to bring together SWIFT providers and the Primary Care and Urgent Care team at NNMG-Vista for collaboration, education, and relationship building.

The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the exceptional orthopedic care delivered by Dr. Jessell Owens and Nikki Hannon, PA, whose dedication to total joint procedures — including hip and knee replacements — continues to produce outstanding patient outcomes. We also recognized Dr. Owens on her recent acceptance of the role as Medical Director of Total Joints at Northern and Sierra Hospitals.

In addition, Dr. Michael Gyorfi shared insight into advanced interventional pain management procedures, overall pain management oversight, and treatment options that support patients throughout their recovery journey while improving quality of care.

Strong collaboration between providers and healthcare systems plays a vital role in creating a seamless patient experience, strengthening continuity of care, and enhancing surgical outcomes across our community.

The little moments of compassion and genuine care truly make all the difference, especially in an urgent care setting where there is often a lot of hustle and bustle due to walk-in availability and the fast-paced environment. Taking the time to slow down, listen, and ensure patients feel heard and supported can have a lasting impact on their overall experience and comfort level. 💙

Here’s what a patient recently shared about their experience with Candie Slider, PA-C:

“Candie was very thorough and explained in an easy-to-understand manner the issues she had found. She discussed alternative treatment options and listened patiently to my input.”

Thank you, Candie, for the attentive and patient-centered care you provide. Your dedication to making patients feel informed, comfortable, and truly listened to leaves a lasting impact as you help guide them on their journey to healing and ensure they are on the right path moving forward — whether that means treating them directly, coordinating a referral to specialty care, or connecting them with therapy services such as OT or PT. Your compassion and commitment to your patients do not go unnoticed. Your patients are lucky to have you, and so are we! 💙

This weekend, Swift Institute participated in the ALS Walk at Sparks Marina, and we were proud to stand alongside ALS Nevada as a sponsor. It was incredible to see such an amazing turnout from both the community and our own Swift staff and providers. 💙

This organization is especially near and dear to our hearts, as many of our providers are heavily involved in supporting the ALS community. Thanks to the generosity of our team, which included a large donation from Dr. Lynch himself, The Real Swifties raised close to $10,000 in support of ALS Nevada!

With over 100 Team Swift participants, it was a beautiful morning spent together making a positive impact. From families and friends to plenty of adorable dogs, the event was filled with energy, support, and community spirit. 🐾☀️

And of course, with all of our bright Swift pink around the Marina, we definitely were not hard to spot! 💕 A special thank you to Cookie Co. for the delicious cookies that were such a hit with everyone!

A day at the lanes with a little Kentucky Derby flair 🏇🎳💗

The Swift Institute Workers' Compensation team had the best time participating in the Nevada Self-Insurers Association (NSIA) Bowling Tournament at Coconut Bowl this year! From pink outfits to hats and headbands, our team showed up in style and even took home the award for Best Dressed! 👒✨

The fun didn’t stop there — one of our very own also rolled their way to the second highest score of the tournament 👀🏆 Did you spot the trophy?

The biggest laughs of the day definitely came during the final round: Wacky Bowling 🤪 From hopping on one foot to bowling through teammates’ legs and so much more, it kept everyone laughing the entire game! Not only was it fun to participate, but it was just as entertaining watching the other teams join in on the fun as well! 🎳✨

Thank you to NSIA for hosting such a fun-filled event. We’re already looking forward to next year!

It truly makes a difference when our providers take the time to listen, show compassion, and ensure every patient feels both supported and at ease. Patients simply want to feel heard and understood, and when that is achieved, trust is built, comfort increases, and the overall patient experience is greatly improved. 💙

Here’s what a patient recently shared about their experience with Lorenzo Bayuga, PA-C:
"Lorenzo was super friendly and understanding of the pain I was in. He walked me through everything and clearly explained the next steps. I felt confident in the plan, and I’m already feeling better. Thank you so much, Lorenzo. You truly gave me peace of mind yesterday."

Thank you, Lorenzo, for your thoughtful approach to this patient. It truly made such a positive impact not only on how she is feeling, but on her overall patient experience. 🌟

oday, we’re shining the spotlight on Ally! ✨

Here’s what Chris Kegler, PT, wanted to share:
“Ally consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does. She plays a key role in post-op physical therapy scheduling and is always willing to step in and schedule patients at the request of our PAs and PTs.

She regularly covers for our Sportsdome scheduler when they are out, never hesitating and never complaining—just showing up ready to help wherever she is needed.

Ally truly embodies what it means to be a dedicated and reliable team member. Her willingness to take on additional responsibilities, support her coworkers, and ensure patients are scheduled efficiently makes a meaningful impact on our daily operations. We can always count on her to step in, stay organized, and keep things moving forward with a positive attitude.”

Thank you, Ally, for your dedication, teamwork, and the support you bring every day! 👏
