It’s so sad and maddening to me that we have constantly fight for accessibility. We should have a panel of people with disabilities review future buildings and offices to ensure they are accessible. Would be a lot easier and cheaper to catch issues early on.

So, for any of my friends who use a wheelchair and have glasses. When you go to your eye doctor, do you have a transfer in the exam chair?

I’m not talking about bad doctors, but today, I went to the eye doctor, and I’ve been going to some company for years now, and today they made me get into the exam chair, which, granted, it wasn’t that bad, but my thing is that last year and yours before I didn’t have to do that. So, I’m going to be working on something that might be helpful. Not sure if it would be a requirement under the ADA, but I would love to see at least 1 removable exam chair in every eye doctor's office, so they can do a proper exam without us trying to sit still on an unsupported chair.

What are your thoughts on this issue??

This is so awesome!!

Angel was born with a condition called arthrogryposis, causing joint deformities that limit a person's range of motion. He cannot walk or carry out certain tasks independently, and has always been wheelchair bound needing care.

Angel was unsure if he would ever find love, and at the start of the relationship he felt shy to ask Karla to help him with things and didn't want her to see that side of him - but as their relationship progressed, Karla happily helped to care for Angel, brushing his teeth and helping him get dressed. However, online and in public they've faced judgement consistently. Karla said: “We get a lot of comments saying 'I'm just with him for money', that 'I get his disability cheque' that 'I don't love him' and 'I'm just with him out of pity', those are the comments that catches my eye the most, they're the worst." ❤️‍🩹

Somebody asked me the other day "what is the message that your want people to hear" I said were people just like everybody else. we want love, friendship, relationship, and happiness just like anyone else.
