Looking for an easy way to advocate? Give feedback!!

We saw this traveling through PDX, OR - Portland International Airport which does not have a Universal Changing Table (to our knowledge) - despite having just gone through a major renovation. Well, it’s still going on so maybe we’ll see one there soon! 🤞🏻

Read more about how and why Joshua is advocating for universal changing tables in Michigan (and beyond!) here:

Changing tables are often associated with infants or young children, but there is another population in need of the accessible devices.

♿ The Inaccessibility Cycle ⛔

It starts quietly… but the impact is loud:

1️⃣ Inaccessible spaces
2️⃣ People with disabilities can’t participate
3️⃣ Their absence leads to invisibility
4️⃣ Disability is perceived as rare or “other”
5️⃣ So they’re not considered in planning
🔁 And the cycle of inaccessibility repeats.

This isn’t just unfortunate—it’s systemic. And it’s avoidable.

Inclusion doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentional design, representation, and listening to lived experiences.

Let’s break the cycle. Let’s build spaces where everyone belongs.

‼️‼️ Nevada’s FIRST installed Universal Changing Table! ‼️‼️

We are thrilled to share that the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center has installed Nevada’s first Universal Changing Table! Thank you to the City of Reno Government, the David Shaw-Kennedy III Fund at the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada Community Foundation of Northern Nevada and everyone at City of Reno Adaptive for making this happen!

Your support and action feels like one big hug! 🫂

The table that was chosen is the Pressalit VersaMax from MAX-Ability Inc. It is a powered, height adjustable table that will allow for more members of our community to participate in events at EMNCC 🙌🏻

Excited is an understatement!!
