Elder Care Consultants’ Vanessa Bishop is part of an educational panel conversation at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia.

“What’s Next? A Little Nosh, A Little Learning on Life’s Next Chapters” will be held Tuesday, April 28 from 1-3pm at the JCC.

Through real-life scenarios, panelists will address questions families often avoid but need to ask. There will be time for Q&A and exploring resources after the presentations.

Other panelists include Ellen MacDonald, Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals; Shirah Cohen, Realtor; Chelsea Swink, RN, CHPN, JSSA; and Joshua Ackerman, JSSA.

Effective January 1, 2025 a new rule applies to Medicare A patients when a physician determines a change from inpatient to observation status (OBS) during a hospital stay. The rule allows you to appeal the decision. This has a significant impact on your ability to receive care at a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and your bill.
