In partnership with Ferncliff Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, The Harvest Exchange aims to cultivate joy and connection between Ferncliff Residents and members of surrounding area communities. Due to COVID-19, social isolation and it's effects on members of our community has significantly increased. The challenges of severe isolation faced by nursing home residents and loved ones is urgent and creative solutions are imperative. The Harvest Exchange was created by graduate students at the CUNY School of Professional Studies to directly respond to the need for creative solutions during this challenging time. Our hope is to provide opportunities for creativity and exchange between Ferncliff Nursing Home residents, loved ones and the surrounding area communities. On October 25th, November 1st, and November 8th, The Harvest Exchange will be at various locations in Rhinebeck and Red Hook, NY, providing crafts, postcards and prompts to spark "long distance" dialogue, which will culminate in a performance event on the Ferncliff grounds on November 15th. Due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions, participants from the community are not able to join us for the culminating performance event. We hope, however, you'll visit us at our booth on one of the listed dates! Social distancing guidelines will be in effects and masks are required to participate. For any questions or to inquire about performing at our culminating event at Ferncliff Nursing Home, feel free to reach out to us at judy.boals69@spsmail.cuny.edu. We look forward to connecting.
