Happy NFP Awareness Week!

I first learned about NFP as the "Catholic alternative" to contraception. But it's so much more than that.

It's an affirmation of the inherent GOODNESS of the human body.

It's an invitation to recognize your body as the marvelous gift that it is - the gift that YOU are, as an Image-Bearer of God.

It's a chance to learn more about your body and to support your health.

It's a chance to integrate your body, mind, and spirit in a world that tries very hard to divide and compartmentalize our lives.

Yeah ... about that ....

For the record, the pill suppresses your true menstrual cycle and puts you into a artificial chemically induced state most similar to menopause ... that doesn't sound like "cycle regulation" to me ... because it's not! 😳😳

Band-aids are not associated with increased risks of depression, su***de, auto-immune disease, and cancer. To name a few.

This is not about shaming women for being on birth control. This is about the fact that there are BETTER options for reproductive health - options that promote real healing by helping your body to function like it was meant to all along. And it starts by learning what your body is telling you, through fertility awareness.

Y'all, the female body is SO COOL. Menstruation doesn't just "happen" - it's the result of a complex symphony of hormones that enable ovulation each cycle. And those hormones are important for so much more than just reproduction.

So if som**hing's messing with menstruation? It's absolutely messing with ovulation. And if som**hing's wrong with ovulation, that means the rest of your body is not getting the hormones it needs for true health.
