From injury to healing and thriving!

Sometimes what feels like a setback in the moment leads to something healing and inspiring.

Four years ago I was training for a half marathon when I took a hard fall. At the time it felt frustrating - an injury that disrupted my training and left me in pain. But that fall led me to meeting Chris Simon .massagetherapy, a massage therapist in FL who has become a trusted practitioner.

He helped me recover and get back on track and I still see him to this day whenever I visit my sister and friends in FL! Recently I even had the pleasure of personally delivering one of my books that he ordered to him😊

The ripple effect of that “setback” continues to spread - Chris has also been able to help a close friend of mine who’s been dealing with chronic pain.

If you’re going through a difficult time right now, remember this…

That injury, that challenge, that hardship - as much as we wish these things would never happen in the first place - they may end up leading you to a solution, a connection or an opportunity you never would have found otherwise.

The body holds memory of the trauma response so sometimes massage therapy can be helpful for the mind in addition to the body. What makes the difference is the practitioner and the application of what they know as well as the readiness of you, the client.

It’s important to hold onto that kind of hope when going through rough times!

"Just talk about it enough, choose positivity, and you'll feel better."

Except for many people this is not enough.

The mind is powerful but when you experience overwhelming events, your entire being responds - not JUST your thinking mind. This means more than talk therapy and mindset work is often required in order to heal, especially when trying to process difficult experiences.

If you’ve tried talk therapy in the past and struggled to find relief, don’t give up! You may just need a multi-layered and holistic approach - one that addresses your WHOLE being (body, mind, spirit)... not just the mind.

We’ve all heard “time heals all wounds” - but if that were true, why do childhood experiences still affect us even decades later?

Time alone doesn’t always heal. It often just gives you more distance to avoid the real work.

What actually heals:

✨creating safe space to revisit the wound
✨identifying the beliefs formed in that moment
✨processing emotions you buried
✨releasing what you’ve been carrying in your body
✨rewriting your relationship to the experience

Healing isn’t passive. It’s not something that happens TO you while you wait. It’s something you actively choose, often with support, compassion and courage. AND time!

The wounds don’t disappear with just the passing of time. But they can transform with intention.

Who are you as a person? Can you answer that about yourself?

Many of my clients come to me because they can't answer it. They've been so focused on being that desired image of themselves, they have forgotten how to think about who they really are and what they really want.

Healing TIME can help you discover those answers.

Get unstuck, uncover and release limiting beliefs holding you back and live with greater freedom, peace and flow.

What is taking your mental energy? Take a piece of paper and draw a vertical line down the middle of the page, making two columns. On the top left, write “Can Control” and on the top right, write “Cannot Control.” Now list the things that are bothering you and put them in the appropriate column.

Doing this exercise you may notice that so many of the things that cause you stress, worry, fear, frustration and more are things that are truly out of your control.

Continuing the impossible attempt of trying to control them only leaves you in a state of anxiety, pain, depression, or feeling lost or powerless. You will not want to change when you’re in those mental states.

How do you surrender control and shift out of feeling stuck? I teach you how in my book “Healing TIME” - (DM the word HEAL for a link to the book!) This is the book you want if you’re not ready to start therapy or unsure of where to begin your healing journey.

What beliefs have you adopted from things in your past? The unproductive beliefs you formed early in life shaped by critical moments, repeated experiences or messages absorbed from family or culture can create viscous cycles that keep you stuck. For example:

1. Something happens in life that triggers you to feel "I'm not good enough" - a belief that first formed in childhood.

2. "I’m not good enough" makes you feel anxiety, shame, fear or resignation.

3. These emotions might cause you to avoid challenging opportunities in life or over-prepare for something to the point of paralysis or people-please to try to prove your worth.

4. You miss opportunities to learn or take risks, reducing chances of success, growth and happiness in life.

5. When setbacks or mistakes happen, the belief only intensifies: “I really AM not good enough.”

When you can challenge and work through the core beliefs that aren’t helping you, it is true freedom!
