What are the symptoms of a TBI?
Most people with a TBI recover well from symptoms experienced at the time of the injury. Most TBIs that occur each year are mild, commonly called concussions, which is a mild TBI. But for some people, symptoms can last for days, weeks, or longer. If you think you have a concussion ... DON'T HIDE IT.
In general, recovery may be slower among older adults, young children, and teens. Those who have had a TBI in the past are also at risk of having another one. Some people may also find that it takes longer to recover if they have another TBI. Visit neurocarerehab.com to schedule an appointment.

What is Guillian-Barre Syndrome?Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare but serious autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in your peripheral nervous system. This leads to weakness, numbness, and tingling. It can eventually cause paralysis. The cause of this condition is unknown, but it’s typically triggered by an infectious illness, such as the stomach flu or a lung infection.
Guillain-Barré is rare, affecting only about 1 in 100,000 Americans, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. There’s no cure for the syndrome, but treatment can reduce the severity of your symptoms and shorten the duration of the illness.
Physical Therapy is an important treatment for this syndrome to keep your limbs as flexible as possible. If you or a loved one is suffering from this disorder contact us at NeuroCare.

How to Make Hydration a Habit
Many people are so busy that they barely have time to eat, let alone pause for a water break, and you may find you often go hours and hours without quenching your thirst. Here are some simple ways to make fueling up with fluid throughout the day a little easier:
1. Always carry a water bottle, and if you have desk job, always keep one at your desk. If you have a bottle within arms reach, it's very likely that you'll mindlessly sip from it.
2. When you're feeling frazzled or hazy, grab a glass of cold water. Studies show that people instantly feel more alert after drinking H2O.
3. Sip on a mug of herbal tea every evening. If you make this a habit, you'll add an extra cup of fluid to your tally every single day.
4. Eat a diet rich in whole foods. By eating water-rich foods like vegetables, fruits, and yogurt, you'll automatically up your fluid intake.
