As we enter into May, it’s also mental health awareness month. Having stable mental health is important to living a happy, healthy life that you enjoy to the fullest.
Shout out to those who have gotten the mental health help that they need and continue to grow as a person for yourself and your loved ones.
If you or someone you know are looking for help to find an appropriate therapist or type of therapy, I am available, please reach out.
Release that emotional baggage, the stuff you knew about and stuff you may have never known is causing issues, it’s always an eye opening experience, I know.
I can not tell you how good I feel as a person that is healing, on a daily basis.
Mental health is important……if you have lung problems, you go see a Dr, same goes for heart issues and and other organ issues, so why wouldn’t you take care of your 3rd largest organ, like you do the others?

Drink water, love hard and F**k racism.
Love y’all!

The flame that started my passion of serving older people while they age in place. I met Walter while he was living with his lovely wife at his daughter and son in laws home. Walter lived there for years prior to his cruel diagnosis of Lewi Body dementia. As his daughter Ida Mauk would say I walked in a stranger and left with a whole other family to call my own.
Being a caregiver is a tough job for family. They get burned out and it is not recommended long term without help. So, I jumped in, with a lot to learn about the diagnosis and of Walter himself. Their family welcomed me with open arms and Ida and I worked hard together to keep Walter stable and happy in his home.
Walter loved his family, especially his grandkids and his great grandkids, the lord, gardening(especially roses), fishing and spending time with his large Sri Lankan family.
I was blessed to take care of him until the end when his lord Jesus Christ took him home.
That’s when I knew that I was meant to help people navigate the process of age in place caregiving.
So that’s how it all got started. Since then I have taken the Mn department of Health, Community Health Worker certification courses and End of Life Doula certification courses.
My goal is to help people understand, how and why the best choice for taking care of your family should be to allow them to age in place.
Walter had a great smile, a funny sense of humor and was a kind gentle soul!
Rest in paradise Walter, my friend until the end.

Hey everyone!
As most of you know, I’m a caregiver for seniors and people with different abilities, but do you know I have been doing some form or caregiving for over 25 years, I’m a certified Community health worker and a certified End Of Life Doula. In the last 8 years my passion has been to help people age in place. Aging in place, is aging in the comforts of your own home, having the supports and resources you need the entire time you are there. From just needing some housekeeping help all the way to end of life, all at your family home.
It’s possible and I hope through this page I can help answers questions people may have, supply resources and bring us back to the days where our elders were highly respected and not put into facilities that sell the dream of “safety” while draining bank accounts and charging human services through an “A La Carte” menu at astronomical prices.
If you or anyone you know are facing these same questions, of how to give your/their family the best cares possible at home please research how aging in place works.
And like the page while I start gathering thoughts and materials.
I can’t wait to share the story of my first age in place client, Walter and his amazingly support family who made his wishes of aging in place a reality!
Stay tuned!
