March is Endometriosis Awareness Month!🎗️

Approximately 200 million people around the world deal with this painful, life-affecting disease and yet it is still often poorly identified and treated with out of date approaches that don't provide full or lasting relief.

Let's spread the word about this condition and demand better from our healthcare system!

If you have confirmed or suspected endo, please feel free to reach out. I know it can be hard to keep pushing when you've been dismissed or discouraged for so long, but you really do deserve to feel better!

Introducing Grow Club!🌱✨ I am SO excited to bring this information to the girls in our community so that they can transition through puberty with confidence and the understanding of how amazing they truly are.

I know how valuable this would have been for me personally when I was younger, and I truly believe that many of the pelvic health issues I help women through in adulthood could be minimized if we were taught good foundations earlier.

The course will be held over three weeks and while it will be a safe space for just the girls, we will keep parents/caregivers looped in so that you can keep the conversation going at home too.

I want to keep our group intentionally small so that everyone feels safe sharing and being curious together, so if you want to join us for the first cohort of Grow Club, check it out and save your spot now!

📣FREE Workshop!📣 Most women don't know much about their pelvic floor at all, but it plays a huge role in bowel/bladder health, s€xual health, AND your core system! So whether you are an everyday athlete or trying to level up your training in the gym, this workshop is for you.

Power, Pressure, & the Pelvic Floor is a practical, performance-focused workshop for active women. You'll learn how your pelvic floor works as part of your core system, what pelvic dysfunction can actually look like (it's more than just leaking!) and how to adjust your lifting and movement strategies to build strength without unnecessary strain.

We'll cover simple self-checks to help you identify common issues early so you can feel confident in the gym and in everyday life too.

🔹Led by Dr. Jacki Gilpin, pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of Tri Cities Pelvic Health
🔹Thursday March 19th 6:30-7:30PM
🔹Hosted at
🔹FREE to attend but please register to save your spit

At our weekly Clinical Collective, we practiced diaphragm and other fascial release techniques that have high impact in helping our patients.

We believe that skilled, hands-on work from a pelvic therapist can really help your body actually access good mobility and function and paired with education and movement training, you can be unstoppable!

It seemed appropriate to talk about s€xual health this week with Valentine's Day fast approaching!💜💕 Marisa and Angie shared with our team some of their insights from the books Come As You Are and The Great S€x Rescue today.

It is important to us to get evidence-based info on this area, take into account different backgrounds and beliefs, and take a holistic approach to any concerns our patients have.

Have you read either of these books?! What were your takeaways?? Share below! And if you have any s€xual health concerns yourself, give us a call. We would be more than happy to help!

Your body is supposed to go through big changes in pregnancy and birth, but how you recover matters. We don't think the goal should be to "bounce back," but we DO think you deserve to be comfortable, strong, and confident in your body in any season of life!

If you are curious if you have any diastasis recti (abdominal separation) or if your cesarean scar is healing optimally, sign up for a free 15-minute screen. We can help you determine where you're at now and discuss any implications for your overall pelvic health.

Give us a call at 509-730-5878 to save your spot and learn more about your postpartum body today! Free screens only available through February 27th.

Tearing during birth is actually relatively common, with about 3 out of 4 vaginal births involving some degree of tearing that often heals well with minimal to no complications. However, tearing overall is no fun, and more significant tearing can lead to short and long term consequences in your pelvic health.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to minimize your risk of a tear, even if we can't fully control the outcome!  For more details, check out our full blog post at https://tricitiespelvichealth.com/blog-1/how-to-prevent-tearing-during-birth

Clinical collective✨ We have been meeting every week to go over information or practice skills to keep us all leveling up!

Today, Karina presented updated information on endometriosis including how to screen for and diagnose it, treatment strategies, and how pelvic floor therapists can be a vital part of a person's plan of care.

Then, Dr. Marisa taught us different nervous system regulation tools including hands on interventions for the vagus nerve (hello rest and digest system!) The nervous system can play a huge role in pelvic floor symptoms and impact everything including our bladder, bowel, and sexual functions and pain and we want to make sure we are addressing our patients with a whole-person lens, including the nervous system!

Learning about birth was transformative for my own birth experiences, and I LOVE sharing information and tools with other expecting parents🤰🏼

We are generally given no advice or support through this huge transition which can leave parents feeling confused, worried, or worst of all disappointed by an experience that should be empowering and joyful. I think expecting parents deserve better and I want them to feel prepared so they can kick off their journey into parenthood on a positive note!

It is so rewarding to get such kind feedback from parents who have taken my Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class and hear their unique birth stories and how they have felt confident to handle anything that came their way.

I can't wait to guide a new group of expecting parents starting in February! There are currently a few spots left for this cohort and we'd love to have you join!

You've got plenty on your plate as it is with a new baby, so adding thumb or wrist pain to the mix is 👎🏼

De Quervain's tenosynovitis is more commonly called "mom thumb" or "mom wrist" and can come from aggravation in the area from a combination of hormones, swelling, and repetitive movements.

To start, try avoiding aggravating positions or movements. Things like keeping your thumb with your fingers to pick up baby, trying to maintain more neutral wrist positions, and avoiding texting or scrolling with your sore thumb can go a long way.

Pain-free stretching or mobilization around the area or specific strengthening can also help. Sometimes a splint or anti-inflammatory options can be useful too.

If you are dealing with thumb or wrist pain, reach out for support! We are here to help you with ANY part of your body that is affecting your life!
