We really need to do better as a whole. No person today should be killed for political or religious views. Even if you remove this man’s high profile public lifestyle from the picture, a woman lost her husband, 2 very young children lost their father & more than likely some parents lost a son. Not only that, but it was done in a very public manner in front of young college students & videos of this tragedy spread rapidly across social media platforms all over the internet for all of our young people to see.

I pray every day that I am raising my children to be good, kind, & thoughtful adults. Every day I’m shown again why this is consistently my prayer. Sadly today, this is my why.

Love thy neighbor, y’all. No adjective. That is all.

If you’re in the Hattiesburg area, go support these vendors! HUBFEST did them dirty, but The Porter Public House is trying to make it up to them. Wish I was off work so I could go!

In response to the unfortunate cancellation of HUBFEST 2025, The Porter Public House and Front Street Eats will host the first ever FRONT & PINE FEST in celebration of all things art, music, food and fun here in Downtown Hattiesburg RAIN OR SHINE.

If you were a vendor, come set up in our parking lots. We support you. All of us Small Businesses here in Downtown Hattiesburg, anticipate this day every year and celebrate it as our biggest and busiest. We have prepared and are ready for a big day regardless of the weather. Come support our Downtown and the Greater Hattiesburg area by celebrating what it means to live in the HUB CITY.
