Cathy was diagnosed back in May with Adult Tcell lymphoblastic lymphoma / leukemia that only has a 40% survival rate . Since her diagnosis Cathy has started Chemotherapy, has had multiple surgeries and has had to make multiple trips to Emory in Atlanta. As you can imagine it has been a grueling process for her and her family. Her amazing family has stepped in and been by her side taking care of her, helping to take care of her three boys and her home. In a few weeks Cathy goes back to Emory to have her bone marrow transplant surgery (her brother was a match!) She will stay at Emory for 3-4 weeks post surgery. If everything goes well she will be discharged, but will have to live within 4 miles of Emory for an additional 4 weeks. In short she will literally be battling for her life, but this bone marrow surgery could give her back her life. Now is the time for us, her community, to join together and support her, her boys, and the rest of her family. I am organizing a Light the Night event for Cathy to help raise money for her living and medical expenses. I would love if you would join in with me however you can. I have reached out to the Leukemia & Lymphoma chapter in Atlanta and they are suppling the lanterns. We are also planning on a silent auction/raffle, bounce houses, music, etc. T-shirts for Leukemia/Lymphoma will be sold as well as bracelets and all money made will go directly to Cathy. At sunset we will light up the night with lanterns in Cathy’s honor. Although she will not be able to attend her family will be attending. If you have any resources that you can offer or you would like to donate something for the raffle please let me know.
