My heart feels heavy as I watch the news and see people I love walking through hard things. Jesus didn’t promise the absence of trouble — none of it is a surprise to Him.

But He does offer peace — peace that surpasses understanding, even when life feels uncertain. He has overcome, and He will overcome the hard things — even when I can’t see it yet.

Through His death on the cross, Jesus conquered the heaviness of sin and fear of death and offers the hope of eternal life to all who believe.

And because He is sovereign over all things, I can keep holding on to hope.

Labels provide clarity and make it easier for everyone in the household to put away and find what they need.

Choosing an accessible location, a suitably sized storage area, and a reasonable quantity for your family can be really helpful.

Typically, two water bottles per person is sufficient.

Only keeping your favorites — and not having to deal with an avalanche of bottles — makes hydration easier.

This closet reflected an intense season for a busy mom, and our goal was simply to make her life a little easier.

We decluttered a lot—taking everything out, editing intentionally, and putting back only what supports daily routines right now.

Clothes are zoned by type, the most-used items are within arm’s reach, folded categories are contained so they don’t collapse, and suitcases are stored up high but still accessible.

She also rents much of her clothing, which gave us permission to keep less and let the space feel lighter.

And once her husband saw progress, he jumped in too—donating items and resetting his side of the closet alongside hers.

Organization isn’t about having it all together.
It’s about creating support when life is full.

If you got something new over the holidays,
January is a good time to let old ones go — socks, shoes, small appliances, everyday things — especially if you won’t use them anymore.

Donate what still works.
Toss what doesn’t.

And enjoy a little more space in your home.

Ok I’m not type A enough to have posted this earlier nor put away my Christmas decorations yet, but FYI this works with any category! When putting stuff away, notice what’s left behind and consider why you didn’t use it - is it broken, has your taste changed, does it not fit your life/space anymore? Consider passing it on to someone else who would enjoy it or throw it away if it’s not usable anymore. And find the gift of more space!

Give yourself grace.

If something feels frustrating — notice it. (Like my wrapping station situation.)
If something works — remember it.

You don’t need a new system two days before Christmas.

You can use the information later and do something about it then.
For now enjoy being with loved ones and celebrating our Savior’s birth. Merry Christmas!

Just had a conversation where I mentioned that I often feel burdened by things I think I should do.
I’ve been carrying around weights I don’t actually need to bear.

Jesus—the reason for this season, when so many of us feel extra tired and restless—tells us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

What if we let go of the burdens we’ve been carrying and took hold of His hand instead?

And celebrate that He came to this earth as a humble baby so we could come… and rest.

Anyone else need a little more grace right now? 🙋‍♀️

Small things add up.

When the first drawer you open in the morning feels calm, the rest of the day has a better chance of following suit.

It’s not about perfection — just making life a little easier and removing a few points of friction.
