Oops the labels had fallen off- it might explain my greasy hair earlier in my travel week! When my memory falters (which happens frequently these days) labels help answer the question- what’s inside? Especially when two things look alike. (Also helpful with sugar v. salt or garlic powder v. onion powder).

Prime real estate should go to everyday items.

In organizing, “prime real estate” means the spaces that are easiest to reach and access in your home.

Those spots should hold the things you use most often.

Items you rarely use can live in less convenient spaces - like keeping the suitcases in the attic for our family.

Sometimes what makes everyday tasks feel overwhelming isn’t because the task is hard…

…it’s the number of decisions involved.

Packing feels like that to me.

Keeping a toiletry bag ready to go removes one entire category of little choices and actions (filling travel shampoo or finding the toothpaste).

And isn’t it nice when life is a little easier?

Glad to have a little more space in a spot that works overtime for our family… I was surprised to notice that some of my hot sauces did not say they needed to be refrigerated - just stored somewhere cool and dry. Also realized I was storing a few unopen items that could stay in the pantry - dressing and applesauce - as well as a suspicious bottle of relish with an expiration date that has been rubbed off over time!!!

My heart feels heavy as I watch the news and see people I love walking through hard things. Jesus didn’t promise the absence of trouble — none of it is a surprise to Him.

But He does offer peace — peace that surpasses understanding, even when life feels uncertain. He has overcome, and He will overcome the hard things — even when I can’t see it yet.

Through His death on the cross, Jesus conquered the heaviness of sin and fear of death and offers the hope of eternal life to all who believe.

And because He is sovereign over all things, I can keep holding on to hope.

Labels provide clarity and make it easier for everyone in the household to put away and find what they need.

Choosing an accessible location, a suitably sized storage area, and a reasonable quantity for your family can be really helpful.

Typically, two water bottles per person is sufficient.

Only keeping your favorites — and not having to deal with an avalanche of bottles — makes hydration easier.

This closet reflected an intense season for a busy mom, and our goal was simply to make her life a little easier.

We decluttered a lot—taking everything out, editing intentionally, and putting back only what supports daily routines right now.

Clothes are zoned by type, the most-used items are within arm’s reach, folded categories are contained so they don’t collapse, and suitcases are stored up high but still accessible.

She also rents much of her clothing, which gave us permission to keep less and let the space feel lighter.

And once her husband saw progress, he jumped in too—donating items and resetting his side of the closet alongside hers.

Organization isn’t about having it all together.
It’s about creating support when life is full.
