How much Vitamin D do you get? I personally just increased my supplementation from 2500 units/day to 5000 units/day after listening to one of the prominent researchers on Vitamin D speak. Most Americans are deficient in Vitamin D and also don't get enough sunlight that helps what we do have convert into usable form.

Its a super important vitamin for all kinds of reasons in preventing disease and improving it. Deficiency in vitamin D is also linked to many childhood development problems (often due to deficiency in the mother as well).

You should maintain levels of at least 40 in the blood. Lactating women need higher levels. That means the amount you get through food or take as a vitamin supplement may vary from person to person based on how your body metabolizes it. Get your numbers checked.

Improve your immunity, healing time/repair processes, children's development, bone health and energy levels!!

Did you know there is a good and bad way to use the toilet in our western world? This makes a huge difference if you are not completely emptying your urine or stool which might make you feel like you need to go to the bathroom again and again. Post-void leaking, incomplete stools, a**l fissures, hemorrhoids, urgency and other symptoms might be improved if your toilet etiquette is better.

Don’t: Hover over the toilet
Do: Sit down on the toilet seat! Yes! Even if you’re in public. Layer that seat up with toilet paper as much as it takes for you not to feel gross and take a seat. It takes the tension out of your legs and pelvic floor needed to allow relaxation that is optimal for urine and f***s to pass easily.

Don’t: Bear down/ strain/ push when you’re urinating or defecating
Do: Use low guttural moan or moo sounds like you would during labor and breath down relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. When you make deep noises like this, your pelvic floor relaxes and allows for urine and f***s to pass more easily. Also, you can bulge out your abdomen and gently squeeze your tummy muscles while relaxing your a**s to use pressure effectively to help you defecate without bearing down into your a**s and causing things like hemorrhoids.

Don’t: Use a toilet too tall for you or only have your feet flat on the ground
Do: Use a toilet that your knees are slightly more elevated than your hips. This is where a squatty potty is super helpful to help you rest your feet while having your hips flexed. Just like all the other tips, a squatty potty is a tool that helps relax your pelvic floor and allows everything to flow easier!

Cheers to a smooth poo and a happier you!!! Happy Toileting!

We know what you really want! Don’t take our word for it. Listen to some of our patients.

We know you want to feel good in your body. We know you want to be comfortable in a comfortable environment. We know you want to be out of pain, live carefree, not worry about where the next bathroom is, be able to take care of your family, get stronger safely, feel empowered during birth, p**p better, have better more comfortable s*x, wear clothes you like, sleep better, and not feel exhausted. Am I right?

No matter what phase of life you’re in, you deserve to feel good. PT has never been a quick fix but it should be educational and help with long term strategies, body mechanics, movement pattern changes and habit changes to last a lifetime.

If you’re looking to know more about yourself and get to a deeper understanding of your body and the root of problems or just learn about where you are now and what to do as you move forward in your life stages, give us a call. We know more than you think! DM for more info 🫶

We give pregnancy educational talks a lot! I recently discussed tips to better care for yourself during pregnancy and postpartum. One of my favorite points is that most of your prenatal appointments and check-ins with the doctor are mostly focused on your overall medical health, the baby and their healthy development, but not enough focus is on you and day-to-day aches/pains/other symptoms and prevention strategies. Pelvic physical therapy is the avenue to help you in this capacity. In other countries, it's standard medical care for pregnant and postpartum people.

💚💚💚🌟SELF CARE IS NOT SELFISH! 🌟💚💚💚 Listen to your body. Any discomfort, pressure or pain is a sign of dysfunction. You don't need to tolerate symptoms and fall into the myth that it is just part of "being pregnant." Pregnancy is totally natural and therefore shouldn't come with pain.

Your body is your vehicle through this life. How you feel matters. You deserve to have a pain-free pregnancy.

Please be a voice that advocates that pregnancy should not come with pain and stop this myth from spreading to the generations that come! Refer yourself or a friend who would benefit from therapy within their pregnancy and postpartum period.
