We want to be transparent with you all about difficult conversations we are having to have almost everyday💔😭
Families deserve access to in-person lactation care without barriers—but right now, that’s not the reality.
Anthem/BCBS recently made the abrupt decision to no longer partner with The Lactation Network (TLN), leaving countless families—here in RVA and across the U.S.—scrambling to understand what (if anything) will be covered.
One mom shared with us:
“Honestly, it’s infuriating and frustrating that they made this change. TLN was such an important way to support both mom and baby during such a crucial time, and it feels like a real loss for families. They told me they offer an app for tele-health lactation support—which is such a far stretch from the kind of meaningful, in-person care and guidance that Coming Home RVA provides.”
💔 Families deserve more than an app.
Moms deserve someone to sit next to them, listen to their concerns, and tailor a feeding plan to their unique situation. Feeding support is not one-size-fits-all.
Here at Coming Home RVA, we’ve been working diligently to:
✨ Strengthen relationships in our community
✨ Collaborate with practices to make out-of-pocket options more affordable
✨ Continue providing the compassionate, hands-on care every family deserves
👉 That’s why we’re encouraging ALL of our families with Anthem/BCBS to call, email, and advocate directly for access to in-person lactation care. The more your insurance hears from you, the harder it will be to ignore the needs of parents and babies.
🤍 In the meantime, know that we are here, fighting alongside you and working to make lactation support as accessible as possible.
