Computer COP is a software that is often purchased by local governments and police agencies to give out to their local citizens. The EFF did a thorough investigation into this widely distributed software that is supposed to aid families protect their children online, and their findings are very concerning. Many localities throughout Virginia have given out this software, including Colin Stolle, the Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney.

"As official as it looks, ComputerCOP is actually just spyware, generally bought in bulk from a New York company that appears to do nothing but market this software to local government agencies."
