I realized I forgot to celebrate something very important.
As of last month, New Lyfe Counseling Services has officially been a successful business for 7 years. And to be honest, I was so busy working, building, helping people, solving problems, and planning the next move that I didn’t even stop to celebrate.
Seven years.
Seven years of faith.
Seven years of growth.
Seven years of helping people change their lives.
Seven years of impact in the community.
New Lyfe Counseling Services was never just meant to be a business.
It was meant to be a place where people could come when life felt too heavy, when they felt lost, overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, grieving, or just needed someone to talk to without being judged.
Over the years, New Lyfe has:
• Helped children with behavior, school issues, and emotional regulation
• Helped teens navigate identity, peer pressure, and life decisions
• Helped adults manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stress
• Helped couples work through relationship and communication issues
• Helped families heal and communicate better
• Provided grief counseling and support groups
• Mentored young boys and girls in our community
• Hosted community events, school supply drives, turkey drives, and giveaways
• Provided internships and training for future counselors
• Created jobs and opportunities
• Created a safe space for people who felt like they had nowhere else to go
That is what I am most proud of — the impact.
New Lyfe is more than counseling.
It is mentorship.
It is community work.
It is safe space.
It is growth.
It is second chances.
It is healing.
It is purpose.
Sometimes when you’re building something, you don’t realize how many lives you’ve touched until you sit back and look at the years.
I am grateful for every client, every parent, every child, every staff member, every intern, every community partner, every supporter, and everyone who has ever referred someone to New Lyfe.
Seven years later, and we are still growing, still helping, still building, and still changing lives.
And for that, I am truly grateful.
