Throwback. 2012.

I’ve never sought to be better than anyone; comparison is a dangerous game.

I’ve never aimed to be the strongest or the fastest; it’s not who I am or what I want to be.

I’ve never reached my true potential, but I’ve exceeded my status quo.

I’ve never found my limits, but I’ve always tested them.

I’ve never reached the pinnacle of my abilities, but I’ve always busted my ass trying.

Point is, control what you can control and forget about what you cannot. That which is out of your hands should not derail your ambition.

I cannot control my genetics. I cannot exceed the boundaries of my limitations. I cannot be someone I was not meant to be.

But what I can be is hard-working, tenacious, realistic and determined. I have never been outworked, out-hustled or out-driven. And that I can control.

If you take nothing inspirational from today, take this: you are better than you could be and not quite what you want to be. That will never change. Don’t seek to change that which is unchangeable or out of your control. Make the best of who you are and ride it until the wheels fall off.

A moderate amount of protein spaced out about 3 hours will create the most bioavailability (usable protein) for your body.

Too much protein at once and your body will not be able to use it all. Keep it moderate, give it adequate time to digest and it’ll benefit you the most. 💪🏼

We all struggle—some do it outwardly, others do it internally.

We all doubt—we doubt ourselves, our abilities, our capabilities and our accomplishments.

We doubt if we may ever overcome that which has defeated us. We doubt if we have what it takes to succeed. We doubt if we will ever be able to grow enough to attain our goals.

Just so you know, you are not alone. Your doubts and concerns are also someone else’s.

Someone has your back. Someone struggles to do or accomplish that which ails you also.

Keep pushing. Keep fighting. You never know what you might accomplish tomorrow.

Stay positive. Stay strong. Mental health is just as important (if not more) as physical health.

Figure out what makes you happiest and don’t let it go.

It won’t always be easy. It’ll be a gut-punch at times. There will be trials along the way. It’ll test you, but it’ll make you realize how much better it makes you feel and that you can’t go too many days without it.

You’ll make mistakes while you’re trying to figure it all out; one thing might work and another won’t. But when you know what you need for you, it’ll make sense. Sooner or later, it’ll click for you and you’ll realize what it is you can’t do without.

You’ll learn real quick what you love.

I’m glad I’ve found that.

There is no room for advancement in an environment you’ve outgrown.

The company you keep, the thoughts that govern you, the mentality to which you’re exposed and the attitude of your surroundings can define who you become.

Don’t let it.

Personal growth cannot take place in the confines of a stagnant environment.

There is nothing wrong with change—growth and maturation often require it. If you feel stuck in your current situation, mentally, physically and/or spiritually: overcome it. Escape what doesn’t help you evolve.

Change isn’t inevitable unless you’re open to it and can allow yourself to fully understand its importance in who you become.

Physical growth is a given.
Mental growth requires focus.
Spiritual growth necessitates the rediscovery of self and a sense of unwavering direction.

Onward and upward. Leave negativity and conformity behind and, instead, acquire positivity and individuality. Today is the perfect day to redefine yourself through calculated action, redirected thought and the dismissal of whatever may hinder your progress.
