We love St. Patrick’s Day and all the fun that comes with it—music, trivia, dancers, and delicious treats. At The Barrington, the Irish spirit is truly in the air! Residents and staff enjoy celebrating together with laughter, festive decorations, and activities that bring everyone together. At The Barrington of Hioaks, we love celebrating the people who make our community special. This week, we honored Jenny, one of our wonderful volunteers, with her very own WOW moment.

Jenny is always ready to help others. She truly embodies the spirit of the great neighbor everyone wishes they had. Her passion for supporting people with disabilities shines through in the kindness and patience she shows our residents every day.

Music has always been part of Jenny’s life. She once sang in a garage band, performing in local bars, and her love for music has never faded. During her WOW moment, Jenny shared that passion by singing beautiful folk music, a style that also brings back cherished memories of her dad and her beloved uncle.

It was a heartfelt and joyful moment for everyone at The Barrington of Hioaks — and a wonderful way to celebrate Jenny and the kindness she brings to our community.

What a beautiful WOW moment for the Garrison's family. One of Lyndee’s wishes came true when Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden welcomed her and helped create a wonderful afternoon for her and her amazing family.

The day was even more meaningful because Lyndee once volunteered at the Botanical Garden, as well as at Maymont. Being able to return and experience the gardens again made the moment truly special.

Seeing Lyndee enjoy the beauty of the gardens, surrounded by her family on such a lovely day, was a real gift for everyone. It wasn’t just a visit—it was a chance to relive memories and reconnect with a place she loves so much.
