We're excited to announce our next virtual Coordinated Regional Council event ... transit nerds, this one's for you! 🚍
People with disabilities have trouble finding and accessing transportation solutions that are inclusive, reliable, affordable, and safe. What transportation options, resources, and alternatives exist in Virginia? Hop aboard and join the IFSP Community Regional Councils and Virginia Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) staff on Thursday, July 17th from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Get tips and resources from Katherine L. Newman at the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center NADTC and Jess Maffey from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation! Adults with DD will also tell us how they get around in their communities.
❓ Who should attend?
• People with developmental disabilities of any age who are interested in learning more about transportation-related tips, resources, and alternatives;
• Family members, caregivers, and friends;
• Professionals and other community members supporting people with developmental disabilities, including support coordinators/case managers, providers, and educators; and
• Anyone interested in this topic!
