A board certified Genetic Counselor with a Master of Science in Human Genetics and 14 years of experience working in hospitals, JoAnn has been a Reiki practitioner since 1997 and a Reiki Master since September of 2000. She also became a Karuna Reiki® Master in May of 2008. JoAnn is an ordained Priest in the order of Melchizidek, an Advanced Level Integrated Energy Therapist (IET), and a Level III Reconnective Healing® Practitioner as well. JoAnn belongs to the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP) and is an affiliate member of the International Center for Reiki Training Membership Association. JoAnn has worked at the Naturopathic Medical Center in Danbury, CT and the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital, where she provided Reiki sessions to outpatients and inpatients receiving conventional cancer treatment. At Turning Point Reiki, LLC, JoAnn provides private Reiki sessions and a variety of other services and classes. When necessary, she incorporates Integrated Energy Therapy®, Karuna Reiki®, and "cell memory" technique, which address mental/emotional issues, past traumas, and unwanted patterns by healing the core issue. She also offers Reconnective Healing® and The Reconnection® in individual, stand alone sessions. JoAnn teaches all three levels of Reiki: Level I, Level II, and Master Level. For those unfamiliar with Reiki, it is a modality for easing discomfort, restoring balance and sustaining health through a refined, ancient art of hands-on-healing. It promotes a state of total relaxation and is an extremely pleasant, holistic method of energy work, which helps to release energy blockages and increase energy flow in the body.
