I want to take a moment to recognize this amazing nurse who works for Pax Hospice. Niccole works a full time job and part time for Pax, but today as tired as she was voluntarily sat with a patient who was actively passing to give the family some reprieve. So touching and just a small part of the awesome things she does for her patients and Pax! Thank you for all that you do!

PAX Hospice strives to educate the communities we serve regarding hospice and palliative care. We are available 24/7 for any needs or information regarding hospice care and what is provided.

Introducing these staff members who are present and providing education daily to community members:

Taylor Tucker- Community Educator and member of Leadership Madison County- Taylor serves a vital role in speaking with families and offering education to facilities and well as physicians. Taylor provides support to communities in the form of events such as Roosevelt State Park’s family day, The Dragon Boat Regatta for Madison County Chamber of Commerce, The Longest Day for the Alzheimer’s Association and multiple other activities and family nights provided to local assisted living facilities and skilled care facilities.

Janice Fortune: Janice is a long time Hospice nurse who currently serves as the Director of Nursing for Pax Hospice. Janice is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Bethlehem Women’s Ministry as well as many other organizations that provide scholarships and services to others while providing community education. Janice is also the south central regional senior elder care director. Janice brings a wealth of knowledge and untouchable compassion to those she has the joy of serving. She attends yearly seminars to gain knowledge to provide to the staff she manages as well as to improve quality of patient care. Janice is also a member of LMHPCO which provides support in her role as she leads our Emergency Operations teams.

Kristi “Gibbs” Eldridge is currently serving as the Administrator of Pax Hospice. Kristi has over 15 years of Hospice and Elder care experience. Kristi is Certified in Case Management as well as ELNEC, Eden Alternative Certified for Elder Care. She is also a member of the 2023-2024 Mississippi Business Journal top 50 Distinguished Leading Business women in Mississippi. Kristi has worked with multiple joint venture hospice/ hospital’s hospice and palliative care programs. She gained infinite knowledge while working with the Vanderbilt hospital system and ACO team providing statistics to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions while striving to provide comfort to patients at end of life care.

These ladies are here to answer any questions you may have. If they do not know the answer, they will surely find it for you. Their combined years of hospice experience ( over 33 ) makes a huge difference in the care provided by Pax.

PAX Hospice has been serving the people of Jackson, Mississippi and surrounding areas since 2005. We’re locally owned and operated and, because of this, are committed not only to our patients and their families, but to creating a better community for all of our citizens.

When we first opened our doors, it was with the idea of creating a safe place where a person’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs could be met during the end of their life. Today, we still honor that mission and work diligently to ensure that each person we serve is able to receive comfort and peace as they make their transition from life to death.

Hospice isn’t a place – it’s a mission of care. We provide care to people wherever they live. This might be at home, in a senior living community or it could be in a care facility such as a nursing home or assisted living facility. We also have arrangements with several healthcare facilities throughout the area, where we offer crisis care and care for those whose symptoms can no longer be managed in the home setting.

Our team consists of a group of highly skilled and compassionate physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, chaplains, caregivers and volunteers. They focus on empowering patients and their families to achieve a peaceful and comfortable end-of-life experience. The staff at PAX Hospice Hospice is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the needs of our patients and their families.

PAX Hospice is certified and licensed in the state of Mississippi and is a member of the Louisiana and Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (LMHPCO).
