Grand River Health becomes Certified Application Assistance Site CERTIFIED!

What does this mean?
¿Qué quiere decir esto?

CAAS stands for “Certified Application Assistance Site.” This means our organization is a community resource that can now assist community members to apply for state medical benefits such as Medicaid, and CHP Plus programs for children.
CAAS [por sus siglas en ingles], significa, Sitio Certificado de Asistencia con Solicitudes. Esto quiere decir que nuestra organización es un recurso comunitario que ahora puede ayudar a miembros de la comunidad a aplicar para beneficios médicos estatales, como Medicaid, y programas de CHP+ para niños.

While this is a much-needed service in our communities, it is especially helpful for citizens who may have limited mobility, or no access to Internet. Our certified staff can help individuals determine which benefits they qualify for; help complete the application and help navigate the documentation requirements.
Esto es un servicio de gran necesidad en nuestras comunidades, es especialmente útil para la comunidad quienes puedan enfrentar desafíos con la movilidad o que no tengan acceso al internet. Nuestros empleados certificados pueden ayudar a individuos en determinar los beneficios cuales ellos reúnen los requisitos; ayuda para completar la aplicación y ayudarles a navegar los requisitos de documentación.

How does it work?

Our CAAS certified technicians will sit with individuals to complete an initial assessment obtaining basic information such as demographics, income, household member review, and documentation verification. While our technicians do not make the final determination, they assist in a much more streamlined and efficient process that can provide for a final decision is as little as 5 business days.

Celebrating Extraordinary Care at Grand River Health Care Center

Grand River Health Care Center is proud to announce the recipients of our most prestigious honor, the Kelly Davidson Care Giver of All Care Givers Award.

Named in loving memory of Kelly Davidson, this award recognizes team members who embody the exceptional compassion, dedication, and heart that Kelly demonstrated during her more than three years of service at our Care Center. Kelly was known for her unwavering commitment to our residents, always going above and beyond to ensure they felt valued, cared for, and at home.

This year marks the fourth annual presentation of this meaningful award. Staff and residents alike have the opportunity to nominate someone who reflects the same kindness and devotion that Kelly exemplified every day.

And in a very special turn of events, we had not one, but TWO winners this year! Based on the heartfelt nominations received, it was clear that both recipients truly embody the spirit of this award.

It is our great honor to announce the 2025 recipients:
Philicia Dillow: "Phillicia quietly goes about doing extraordinarily good every single day. She may not seek recognition, but her impact is undeniable. She maintains a calm, steady presence and never brings a poor attitude to her work.
One of her greatest strengths is her ability to de-escalate and comfort even the most agitated residents. She has a gift for calming situations and creating a sense of safety and reassurance. Residents, families, and staff alike benefit from her steady professionalism.
She is always engaged, never distracted, and models what true presence in caregiving looks like. When Phillicia is on shift, there is a deep sense of confidence, we simply don’t have to worry. She works well with everyone, communicates professionally, and picks up shifts whenever she is able.
Phillicia is a rock-solid example of dedication, compassion, and integrity. Her consistent, dependable excellence strengthens our entire facility".

Kannika Holtz: "I would like to nominate Kannika for this year’s award. I have had the opportunity to observe her many times, both when she was helping with laundry and now while serving meals, and what stands out most is her genuine care for our residents.
Kannika consistently goes about her work with kindness and intention. She takes the time to interact with residents in meaningful ways, always treating them with dignity and warmth. Whether she is ensuring their clothes are handled with care or serving meals with a smile, she approaches every task as an opportunity to brighten someone’s day.
She truly gives her very best in all that she does, and it shows in the way residents respond to her. Her compassion and steady dedication make a difference here every single day."

The Battlement Mesa Health Fair is just around the corner, and we’re excited to care for our community in this special way. It’s a great opportunity to begin the year by focusing on your health and well-being.

Join us on Saturday, March 7th from 8:00am - 11:00am at Clinic West. We're offering low-cost blood screenings, along with additional free health screenings, to help you stay informed and take an active role in your health.

If you’re unsure which screenings are right for you, our care team will be on site to answer your questions and help you choose the options that best support your health goals.

What a fantastic evening at our Technology Open House! Thank you to everyone who joined us to explore the latest advancements at Grand River Health, including GEHealthcare’s upgraded CT technology, Stryker’s MAKO robotic system, and the da Vinci 5 Surgical Robot.

We are grateful to our technology partners and experts for sharing their knowledge, to the Colorado River Valley Chamber of Commerce for the special ribbon-cutting ceremony, and to The River’s Edge Café team for the outstanding food.

Most of all, thank you to our community and staff for making the event such a success. We are proud to continue bringing advanced care close to home.
