Yesterday, on August 11, 2025, we had the pleasure and privilege of hosting a rabies vaccination drive for the residents of Starr County. We distributed 50 vouchers for pets to receive vaccinations, and the event was a complete success! This was the first vaccination drive ever held for pets in the county. I am happy to announce that this is an important step forward in our efforts to support the furry friends of Starr County.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to get vouchers for their beloved pets. We appreciate the entire community for coming out. A special thanks to Dr. Margo, Dr. Resendez, and their staff for making this event possible for my precinct and for those who traveled from other areas of the county.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to my secretaries, Johanna and Marlin, for their hard work in organizing this event. We hope to plan another event in the near future to offer vouchers for spaying and neutering. I will continue to work diligently for my community and for our furry friends.

Commissioner Hernan R. Garza III will be hosting a FREE rabies vaccination clinic at his main office on August 11, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

We have a limited supply of 50 vouchers available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Each household is allowed one voucher. To obtain a voucher, please visit our office and bring proof of residency, such as an ID and a utility bill. Kindly note that residents must live within County Pct. 4.

Dr. Margo will honor rabies shots for $19.00 on this day for pets without a voucher. Deworming services will also be available.
