In perimenopause, it’s likely doing the opposite.

Even “just one” can:
❌ Disrupt REM sleep

Lately, I’ve been enjoying a little something sweet every day. 🍪
Just one cookie after lunch. Nothing extreme. Nothing off-limits. Yes, it fits in my macros.

And while that might not sound like a big deal…

It used to be.

There was a time when a single cookie would send me into a spiral.
I’d either restrict it completely—white-knuckling my way through the craving—
Or I’d eat several, feel guilty, and promise to “start over tomorrow.”

All-or-nothing.
Perfect or “off track.”
Control or chaos.

Sound familiar?

So to be here now—eating one cookie without guilt, shame, or overthinking—it feels like more than just dessert.

It feels like freedom. 🧡

Because this isn’t really about the cookie.

It’s about:
✨ Self-trust
✨ Consistency without obsession
✨ Learning to listen to your body, not control it
✨ Letting go of fear around food
✨ And finally realizing that one cookie won’t derail your goals—but all-or-nothing thinking might

It’s a small thing.

I just want to take a moment to say thank you. 💛
The love and support I’ve received this past week has truly humbled me.
Your kind words have carried me through a heavy season.

Many of you know I’ve been navigating some personal stressors lately—challenges at home, emotional ups and downs, and the physical demands of prepping for a bodybuilding show.

And while prep is something I love, it’s also incredibly demanding—especially when layered with the realities of motherhood, partnership, and perimenopause.

Several months ago, I tore my hamstring—during a warm-up, despite doing everything “right.” That injury has been healing slowly, and in the meantime, I’ve been dealing with severe sleep disruption—waking up between 2–3 AM for weeks.

So I took my own advice:

✅ Slowed down
✅ Focused on recovery
✅ Began collecting data

I’ve been tracking my blood glucose, using a CGM, and now I’ve ordered a full 24-hour cortisol panel to get clarity on what’s really happening.

Is it stress from life and prep?
Is it a hormonal shift in perimenopause?
Or both?

Once I have that information, I’ll make the next decision:

👉🏼 Do I continue prep this year?
👉🏼 Or is it time to enter a full restoration phase?

Either way—I win.
If I step on stage, I get to do something I love.
If I step back, I get to honor my body and protect my health.

Because there is a time for performance…
And there is a time for healing.

True empowerment is knowing which season you’re in—and choosing accordingly.
