At this year’s Northwell Walk to Raise Health at East End, we’re honored to welcome a very special guest speaker: breast cancer patient Jan Harting-McChesney. Jan was diagnosed in her late 60’s, a short time after she lost her husband. Before Jan even left the office, Dr. Susan Lee, our Chief of Breast Surgery, had already reached out to a team of specialists on her behalf. With our help, she bravely navigated treatment and is now thriving.

Dr. Lee and Jan are a reminder that behind every step we take is a life changed, a family supported, and a future made brighter.

On May 17th, you can walk with purpose. Join us to make an impact on your community! To-date, we have:

Stroke survivor and grateful PBMC patient Marc Stern was back on his bike just two months after being released from the hospital.

He even went on an incredible 15-mile ride alongside the doctor who led the team that saved Marc’s life. Dr. Nicholas Palamidessi couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate Marc’s inspiring recovery.

Hospital Week is happening right now! It’s a chance to honor caregivers who truly go the extra mile (or 15) for our community—and to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together, like our new Bill and Ruth Ann Harnisch Neurosciences Center.

☀️Free Skin Cancer Screenings on Sunday☀️

Early detection saves lives, and we’re making it a priority for all residents of Eastern Suffolk County to have access to extraordinary care! This Sunday, May 3, we’re hosting our third annual free skin cancer and blood pressure screening event at Grace Episcopal Church in Riverhead from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. When found early, most cases are highly treatable. When you attend our free event, you’ll also get a quick blood pressure check to help protect your heart and brain health. We hope you’ll join us and spread the word to friends, family, and neighbors who might benefit!

Innovation begins with a bold vision. Peconic Bay Medical Center pursued just that when we decided to bring the most innovative stroke care under one roof, right here in Eastern Suffolk County.

It’s something no other local hospital has done. And on March 30, our vision came to life when we hosted a ribbon cutting for the new Bill and Ruth Ann Harnisch Neurosciences Center!

From the expert specialists joining our team—including two dedicated cranial neurosurgeons—to the treatments we pioneer and the lifesaving care we deliver, every part of this project is touched by philanthropy.
