5 Facts for Seniors Moving to & Living in Riverside, CA
1. More Affordable Than Coastal California: Riverside offers a significant financial advantage. Senior living costs, including independent and assisted living, are generally moderately to substantially below the state average, making it a more accessible option compared to nearby major metropolitan centers like Los Angeles or San Diego.
2. Dedicated “Special Transportation” and RTA Dial-A-Ride: To support independence, the city provides “Riverside Connect,” an advanced reservation, origin-to-destination transport service specifically for seniors aged 60+ and persons with disabilities. Additionally, the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) operates “Dial-A-Ride” for those 65+, offering local trips within a single city.
3. Abundant Senior Centers and “Eldertainment”: Riverside is home to several specialized hubs, notably the massive Janet Goeske Center, which hosts over 160 free or low-cost weekly classes. The city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services department organizes extensive senior-specific programming, often referred to as “Eldertainment,” across multiple community centers like Dales and La Sierra.
4. A Rapidly Expanding Senior Community: Riverside County is experiencing a rapidly expanding older population. This growth drives demand and ensures the continuous development of tailored resources, services, and a supportive social network for incoming retirees.
5. Comprehensive “Office on Aging” Support: The Riverside County Office on Aging acts as a central lifeline, offering more than two dozen free programs and services. Their offerings cover critical needs including nutrition and home-delivered meal services, health insurance counseling (HICAP), legal assistance referrals, and caregiver support.

If you are looking to downsize in and want to stay here, I’m happy to help.

Stop choosing between your kid’s college fund and your parent’s care. There’s a third way that saves $50k a year.🏡✨
The “traditional” way of living is changing. For decades, we were told that success meant everyone having their own separate square footage—miles apart. But in 2026, the Family Compound is the ultimate life hack for health, wealth, and happiness.

1️⃣ Connection is Medicine 🧠 Living alone is more than just lonely, it’s a health risk. Seniors in multigenerational homes see a massive boost in cognitive health and faster emergency response times. It turns “isolation” into “integration.”
2️⃣ The Financial Triple Win 💰 By pooling resources, families are saving an average of $30,000–$50,000 annually. Between the skyrocketing costs of assisted living and the price of childcare, “merging the houses” is the most effective wealth-building tool available today.
3️⃣ Privacy by Design 🔑 Forget the “spare bedroom” cliché. Modern multigenerational living is about Independence without Isolation. Our 2026 floor plans (Slide 3) show how ADUs and In-Law suites provide total autonomy—private entrances, private kitchens, and ADA-compliant spaces—all while staying one door away from the people who love you most.
The bottom line: We weren’t meant to do life in silos. Whether it’s sharing a meal, sharing the bills, or just having grandma right there for a bedtime story, the family compound is how we reclaim our time and our legacy.
Which would you prefer: total privacy or total connection? 💬
Comment “HOME” if you’d consider building a family compound, or tag someone you’d want as your neighbor!

To seniors and families navigating a home sale: you don’t have to do this alone.

Selling a home after decades often happens when life circumstances change — not because of urgency, but because of care, planning, and the desire for a better next chapter.

Here’s what families commonly experience:
• Seniors often want less maintenance and safer living options
• Families want clarity, guidance, and time to make the right decision
• Everyone wants the process to feel respectful, calm, and organized

This type of move works best when everyone has:
✔ A clear plan
✔ Honest expectations
✔ A professional advocate who understands senior needs

How I support seniors and their families:
I provide education, timeline planning, and hands-on guidance — helping you understand options, prepare the home thoughtfully, and make informed decisions without pressure. My goal is to make this transition as smooth and dignified as possible.

Selling a home after many years is more than a move — it’s a major life transition.

For many seniors and their families, the decision to sell comes after careful thought and honest conversations.

Here are a few important facts families should know:
• Why seniors move:
Most seniors sell due to changing health or mobility needs, the desire for less upkeep, or to be closer to family and support systems.

• How they feel:
It’s common to feel a mix of emotions — pride in a home well-loved, sadness over leaving memories behind, and relief knowing help is available.

• Who helps them decide:
Adult children, caregivers, financial advisors, and trusted real estate professionals often guide this decision together.

• What they need most:
Clear communication, patience, realistic timelines, and a professional who understands that this is both a financial and emotional process.

How I can help:
As a Realtor experienced in senior transitions, I guide families step-by-step — from pricing and preparation to coordinating timelines and minimizing stress. My role is to protect your interests, honor the home’s history, and help you move forward with confidence.

📞 If you or a loved one are considering selling a long-time home, reach out for a private, no-pressure conversation.

I guess you can call me an old soul. My love language is coffee and treats. On inspection day I bring the hood so we don’t starve during a 3 hour inspection. 😂😂
But really, I love to connect with my clients and sometimes there is a good chunk of downtime during inspections and this is when we chat, they tell me about their life, stories of the past and hopes for the future. I ALWAYS learn something from my senior clients and it’s always a joy to help them meet their goals.

Many people look down on senior living communities, thinking they are outdated and stuffy.
But this one really hits all the marks; low HOA’s,low taxes, big lot sizes, at least two bedrooms and two baths in most homes and the friendliest neighbors. The community center has everything that you could want to do including two swimming pools and an amphitheater and even Pickleball!!
There are tons of walking paths and this community is super close to all shopping needs. There is even a laundromat that doubles as a lounge and a coffee shop! Now how cool is that? Is your parent stilln need of a move to a community where there is less maintenance and lots to do? Are you thinking about making a move to a 55+ community? The cost of living here is way more affordable than most homes in SoCal. Reach out and I’m happy to help get you started.

✨ Downsizing doesn’t have to feel overwhelming! Whether you’re preparing for a move or just looking to simplify, here are 5 easy steps to make the process smoother:
1️⃣ Start Small – Pick one drawer, shelf, or closet at a time. Small wins add up!
2️⃣ Sort with Purpose – Create 3 piles: Keep, Donate, Discard.
3️⃣ Digitize Memories – Scan or photograph old photos and documents to save space while preserving history.
4️⃣ Use the “One-Year Rule” – If it hasn’t been used or worn in the last year, it may be time to let it go.
5️⃣ Ask for Help – Downsizing is easier (and more fun) with family or friends by your side.
💡 Remember: Decluttering isn’t about losing things, it’s about gaining more space, peace of mind, and freedom.
👉 What’s one area of your home you’d love to declutter first?
