Our first intermediate night vision class of 2026 was a 'blast' last night! We had 12 students from around the state, including Mobile PD, Birmingham PD, and members of the Alabama 1st Judicial Circuit team on the range.

Thank you to Russell Berger with EOTECH for coming down and sponsoring the course, along with bringing some killer new equipment to demo (and dinner.... and photography).

Thank you to Z-Bolt Electro-Optics who donated one of their LEP weapon lights that a student took home last night, winning top shot during the final course of fire / competition.

Thank you to DarkWing TECH and JBS Fab for their continued support of our night vision courses, they both sent a bunch of equipment that we awarded throughout the night to the top performers!

Our next class is full already with a wait list, but we are looking for new venues to host these night vision classes in the fall, shoot us a DM!

Tonight wrapped up a fantastic couple of days of low light training conducted for the ATOA by Applied Concepts Training, LLC . Thank you to the 14 shooters from every corner of the state for their hard work and enduring some cold temps.

Our ATOA server and RTSP stream is live! We just did some UAS testing and pushed the feed to members across the state.

Our ATAK class in April is already over half full!

We are happy to announce our first ATAK (Android Team Awarness Kit) class, coming this April!

We have had a great deal of industry support over the past few months to put this together. Without these industry partners, this class could not have happened!

This is a 2-night class with basic on night one and intermediate on night two.

Z-Bolt Electro-Optics has donated some of their units to the ATOA to demo and eventually give away!

Go follow them, they make some crazy stuff including LEP and VCEL heads. Everyone at the intermediate night vision class last week was blown away (literally) by their light output.

The ATOA is hosting Applied Concepts Training for a 2-day low light course.

This two-day course trains officers in practical low-light tactics and application of both weapon-mounted and
handheld illumination. Emphasis is placed on safe, efficient use of light to identify threats, manage target
discrimination, retain weapon control, and deliver accurate, timely effects in realistic low-light scenarios.

As always this class is FREE to all ATOA and GTOA members and lunch will be provided both days.
