11 students from around the state of Alabama gathered at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Training Center this week for the Alabama Tactical Officers Association - Basic Tactical Operators Course. The students for this course were awarded scholarships from the ATOA and were able to attend completely free, including boarding.

With way over 40 hours of constant training from 4 instructors, these students put in some hard work to complete this course. The students learned everything from small unit CQB tactics to firearmarm skills and even earned their distraction device and chemical munitions certifications from CTS.

This course would not have been possible without Eric Blankenship leading the way and his deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office providing top-tier instruction.

Without our course sponsors, this course would not have been possible. Thank you for providing equipment and support for these students to use during this week and be able to take back to their departments to use on the road.

What a class! We finished the dark season out with our last basic and intermediate night vision course held at Birmingham PD for their SWAT team, Homewood PD was in attendance as well.

Alabama Public Safety Drone Association came out to do some joint training, testing IR and thermal drone integration capabilities. We are grateful for their photos 📸!

Thank you to the class sponsor Z-Bolt Electro-Optics for sending a Blazer light to give away along with a demo ACAL laser.

Nocturn Industries was generous enough to send a demo set of Chrimera panoramic goggles and new Raptor binocular for the team (and us) to try out.

As always DarkWing TECH sent some goodies that everyone got a chance of winning, including their new PTL markers specifically designed for law enforcement.

We also gave away a battery holder, which was put to quick use by the team.
