Today we recognize International Primary Progressive Aphasia Awareness Day đź’™

Primary Progressive Aphasia affects communication, but it does not define the person.

We stand with individuals and families navigating PPA, and we remain committed to raising awareness, supporting research, and building a more understanding community!

Looking back on this past December, the Golden Brain Award celebrated outstanding leadership, mentorship, and service within the Neuroscience community — honoring individuals whose impact truly strengthens our people and our program.

As Dr. John J. Foxe shared about this year’s recipient:
“Across every nomination, one theme stood out: this person always shows up for others. They go above and beyond — checking in on students, postdocs, staff, and faculty; offering support, listening without judgment; and providing a steady, reassuring presence. Their mentorship and advocacy have had a meaningful impact on countless careers.”

We’re still celebrating Dr. Chris Holt, the 2025 Golden Brain Award winner, and the lasting impact they continue to make in our community.

As February break comes to an end and families are heading home from pools, hotels, and water parks, here’s a quick reminder about swimmer’s ear 👂💦

Watch for Signs of Swimmer’s Ear

Otitis externa is an infection of the outer ear canal that can happen when water gets trapped in the ear after swimming.

If you or your child is experiencing symptoms, our team is here to help!
