"I came to MCH in 1995 and was drawn to the building and the people I met. The drive was worth it. Over the years, residents and staff become like family. My proudest moments are seeing families grateful for the care we provide. My advice to anyone starting in healthcare: it’s hard work, physically and mentally, but if it’s in your heart, it’s worth it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and let your passion guide you."

🎶✊🏾 Celebrating Black History Month at MCH! ✊🏾🎶

From music by iconic Black artists to a scavenger hunt spotlighting Rochester’s influential Black leaders, we honored history in fun and meaningful ways for staff and residents.

Displays celebrated national trailblazers, and Derrick Lucas of Jazz 90.1 shared his love of jazz, some local stories and played some music.

Getting Valentine’s flowers has a way of flipping a switch — bringing an instant mood boost while making people feel seen and valued.

Thank you to Wegmans Food Markets for donating about 30 vase arrangements and nearly 50 additional bouquets last week. Many were distributed throughout MCH and several others were made available in the Tapestry Gift Shop.

The MCH Auxiliary and MCH Foundation coordinated the Wegmans donation, with all of bouquets enjoyed by residents and staff! ❤️

MCH is proud to welcome Melissa Coates as our new Medical Social Work Manager.

With more than a decade of experience in acute-care hospitals and leadership overseeing a team of 30 social workers, Melissa brings deep expertise in discharge planning, patient flow initiatives and data-driven care improvements.

Recognized previously as a Rochester Business Journal "40 Under 40" honoree, Melissa will lead programs that support the social and emotional well-being of our residents and families while advancing patient-centered care across MCH.

The Off Monroe Players brought a bit of operatic flair to MCH recently with a lively performance of Gilbert and Sullivan for our residents and it was a hit!

From clever lyrics to classic melodies, the auditorium filled with laughter, toe-tapping and plenty of applause. Our residents enjoyed an afternoon of music, memories and pure theatrical fun.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Off Monroe Players for sharing their talent and energy with our community. Bravo! 🎭👏
