Taking care of our environment is very important, especially to our group of residents at Fleming Point! Did you know while many bee species are struggling, including some facing extinction, it's important to note that honey bees, which are crucial for agriculture and pollination, are not currently considered to be at risk of extinction. According to Fair Planet, honey bee colonies have been experiencing significant losses due to various factors, including parasites, habitat loss, and the use of pesticides. Engage Life Coordinator, Jackie, led a craft to help build houses for honey bees on our campus and do our part to keep them safe!

We recently celebrated Eastern cultures at Fleming Point with our Destination, Thailand special meal, and our monthly Social Series event, "Majesty of Asia". We learned about Asian cultures and cuisine, traveled to beautiful destinations around the continent (from the comfort of our Activity Room!), and noshed on delicious chef-prepared treats. Take pictures at our Pet Photo Booth, learn to make homemade treats, enter our Pet Costume Contest, and meet a real, live K9 officer from the Monroe County Sheriff Department!

Enjoy the pictures of our amazing residents who showed true patriotism and bravery, during wartimes and peace, keeping us all safe!

We unveiled our new Veteran's Wall, pinned our Veterans with American flag lapel pins, and gave each one a framed picture of their picture from our wall.
The cherry on top - Berkeley Brean of WHEC News Channel 10, joined us to showcase this amazing event!

We have the privilege of partnering with the students and teachers at English Village Elementary School, a local school nearby. We love engaging in intergenerational programs with our youth - it gives us a great opportunity to build mutually beneficial relationships. There is also a Girl Scout Troop as part of this partnership, and they came to visit us. Our residents who were Girl Scouts in their youth had a great time talking with today's scouts!
