As many K-12 kids go back to school this week - we wanted to take a quick moment to point out today's Google Doodle that kicked off Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month and honored Puerto Rican activist Felicitas Gómez Martínez de Mendez, who paved the way for the landmark decision, Brown v. Board of Education, which ruled against the segregation of public schools.

Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off on Tuesday, and Google is fittingly celebrating with a new Google Doodle -- of civil rights pioneer and business owner Felicitas Mendez.
