Greetings Friends of Darkwind Media.
We started Darkwind around this time back in 2008, fresh out of college with the ambition of creating a game studio. Our journey carried us through a wide variety of work, from websites to interactive web applications, low level hardware support, medical visualization and more. Over time, these avenues slowly began to converge towards our goal of developing high quality and highly respected video games.
We’ve had the opportunity to work with some fantastic partners over the years and built some outstanding relationships. One of those relationships is with our partners, Camouflaj, from Seattle. We started working with Camouflaj back on the third episode of REPUBLIQUE, and have continued to collaborate with them on several projects, up to and including MARVEL’S IRON MAN VR, by far our largest project. We've had the privilege of helping their studio grow, and growing alongside them. I’m proud that Darkwind has been able to celebrate our successes and learn from our challenges together.
Today we get to celebrate with Camouflaj—members of Darkwind Media officially become a part of the Camouflaj team, and together we have joined Meta (https://www.oculus.com/blog/vr-games-meta-connect-2022-marvel-iron-man/) as the newest member of its Oculus Studios.
Our experience working with Meta has been fantastic. We feel a strong alignment with their development philosophies and believe that by working together we will be enabled to create the quality of products that we have always believed we were capable of creating.
While it’s hard to say goodbye to the Darkwind brand and identity that has been a part of our lives for so long, it’s made easier knowing that Camouflaj is a studio that we feel we have all contributed to and take pride in. In many ways, our day to day remains largely unchanged, as we are still here working together, pushing hard to ship MARVEL’S IRON MAN VR for Meta Quest 2 while also working on our next, unannounced title that we’re so excited to eventually share with you all.
Thank you to our partners, our employees current and former, and our friends for everything over the years for helping us have this opportunity.
