The holiday season is upon us. No matter what the holidays bring for you, there are many ways to enrich the season by bringing compassion into your experience. Here are three simple ways to give this season:

Be Honorable - Support a Cause that Matters to You. What has touched your life? Who has helped you through difficult times? What are the future's biggest challenges? Find a meaningful action, community, or organization that is making a different and add your time, resources, and energy to their mission or cause.

Be Compassionate - Look Around You. People in need of compassion are all around, not in some far away location. Your elderly neighbor could be cheered by your company, a struggling family next door might welcome your homemade holiday treats, the busy single mom would be grateful for a volunteer babysitter. Not everyone asks for assistance but all appreciate kindness.

Be Useful - Give Your Time. Financial support is always welcomed, but giving your time, talents, or skills can have an even greater impact. Human interaction can be the greatest gift of all. Take a friend in need out to lunch, share conversation, volunteer to help out at a domestic abuse or nursing home or to walk dogs at an animal shelter. You will receive the gift of gratitude while brightening someone else's day.

Did you know that there are many studies that suggest Thanksgiving is, by definition, the most healthy holiday? That’s because gratitude is so very good for you and your health.

Grateful people have been shown to get better sleep, feel less anxious and depressed, and be better at keeping to their exercise goals. Those who keep good track of their blessings experience more feelings of true happiness than anyone else. Thankfulness even goes a long way to boosting your immunity.

Thrive Counseling, LLC is now offering a PCOS support group that meets every Tuesday evening. By joining this program, you will gain the tools needed to effectively manage your PCOS.

Topics include:
