We're sure there's a study out there somewhere that says light up shoes improve balance and if not, they still look awesome! This patient from Geneseo is looking good!
Happy Saturday! We hope you're sliding into the weekend like this patient from White Spruce! Have a great weekend everyone!
Horseback Riding
Is your PT trying to get as specific as possible after surgery? This patient is recovering from a leg surgery with a goal of returning to competitive horseback riding. Although we can't bring a horse in the clinic we can simulate some of the demands as she builds up her strength!
Did you know kinesiotape can dramatically help reduce swelling and bruising? Take a look at this application by our Rush-Henrietta crew to decrease swelling around a painful knee! DM us to learn more! https://lattimorept.com/schedule-an-appointment/
ACL RTS Functional Testing
Assess don't guess! If you're being cleared to return to sport because a certain number of months went by that's all wrong. With a battery of strength and functional tests we make sure each patient we rehab is "Lattimore Ready" to return to their sport. Even if that means getting out of the clinic and meeting you at the gym to test we'll go above and beyond to make sure you are good to go! #TheLattimoreWay #LattimoreReady

Nordic Hamstring Curls
Have you ever tried a Nordic hamstring curl? They're harder than they look!
Nordic hamstring curls can improve eccentric HS strength, reduce risk of HS injury, and ready the HS for sprinting. They're an important part of getting a patient back to their sport following a leg injury or surgery including hamstring strains, ACL tears, etc.
When you’re sprinting the hamstring is lengthened during swing phase while it is activated, so exercises like this can be very effective!
Modify this with a band or foam roll to assist if needed!
Trip season is upon us and we couldn’t be more excited to see you succeed on your next adventure 🏞️

Functional Rehab for Dance
Functional Rehab for Dancers! Here we have a dancer Calia who has been dealing with hip and knee pain. She has been working with Kelsey Milligan of @LattimoreWebsterPT. In these exercises we are working on improving single leg stability and control to improve her ability to jump and land on stage! Great job Kelsey and Calia!
Exercises:
1️⃣ Eccentric lowering off the jump box: the slow lowering emphasizes quad control and by cueing not to allow the knee to go into valgus or "cave in" we get some extra glute recruitment for stabilization
2️⃣ Reverse lunge into a march with the Tidal Tank: the tank is filled with water so as you move with it it will challenge core stability and the lunge works glutes, quads and hamstrings and the march portion adds an extra layer of core work and hip flexion
3️⃣ Reverse Lunge with Sport Cord Valgus Force: this exercise trains similar muscle groups as the reverse lunge in exercise 2 but the addition of a band pulling the knee in cues extra glute recruitment which is an important factor in improving knee stabilization and decreasing pain
Many of our therapists specialize in this type of functional rehab to return to your sport or activity. DM us today to learn more or send us an email! https://bit.ly/47jkpH5
