I was asked recently about how I view contact with our "Higher Selves", this was my response:
I feel that Everyone is connected to their 'Higher Selves' (to some degree or another) at all times, whether we're consciously aware of it or not. What we call "reality" in our day-to-day world is just a small, small part of something much bigger going on all around us, continuously. Part of us looks 'down' from somewhere 'high', and in times of need or proper attunement, we are able to 'see' from this perspective (or others); for me this usually manifests as epiphanies, recognition of synchronisties (or patterns) and flashes of 'intuition', among other things.
It is to no fault of our own that we spend periods of time in ignorance of this, for the simple fact that everything comes in it's own time. And just as certain flowers only bloom during specific conditions, we too will blossom, each in our own way, in the appropriate time and place.

We have all of us faced trials and tribulations that allowed us to acquire vital skills and tools along the Path. All that's needed to begin is to simply take the first step.
