Today I am thankful for CrossFit Echelon and the coaches who have helped push me beyond what I realized I was capable of. I am especially thankful to my early morning group who I have so much fun with everyday. You know who you are! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
Guess who’s back?! See you guys tomorrow 630 let’s bring it posse!!!! I’ll make my transition back to mornings though 😁
Had my first workout this morning and did 200+ Sledgehammers. This song was going through my head. Very fun workout and great coach (Adam). I like the culture at Crossfit Echelon.

Thank you, Crossfit Echelon, for a fun and organized event today! I value how seriously you took the judging, and it’s impressive how smoothly the whole day went! 😍
I am grateful that the training I receive at Crossfit Echelon allows me to enjoy the activities I do, like attending classes at Wasenshi Kan and the AJJF's 2018 convention, more fully. Thank you!!

The 5:30 am crew

We practice the CrossFit methodology to provide physical, mental, emotional, psychological and social therapy to our community who require injury/disease prevention, general health and wellness planning, and fitness services.

(Small group and individual). Our desire is to exist as a driving force in the redemption of the fitness industry in Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, and the surrounding areas. Fitness for us is the best means to a better end. We are fathers, mothers, teachers, students, and public servants first. And simply put: we want to become better at what we do in everyday life so that we may live that life to

When life gets REALLY REALLY busy.

I am going to use myself as an example this week.

Here is what we have going on right now:
An anniversary vacation
A graduating senior and all those events.
Family coming into town.
We have Murph coming up and getting our athletes prepared for that.
An archery event out of town.
Two more big birthdays for our kids.
A couple of big projects around the house.
End of school “tasks and meetings” scheduled for our other kids.
A summer camping trip planned for the family.

ECt ect ect. I'm sure that anyone of us can come up with more…but that isn't the point…all of our lives are like this.

Isolating the Issue:
I was getting overwhelmed with all the expectations that I have for myself and the sheer amount of things but I know that if I don’t workout and stay on track with my food intake, I won't be at my best for all of this and for my family.

Realization:
Bottom line, the events won't change. And if I give “the list” the authority to dictate my time and emotions...I will never master the ebbs and flows of eating healthy and exercising with a busy life.

Creating Solutions:
I have written it down, checked boxes but I needed to adjust the volume and the intensity of my workouts to make sure I'm not draining my energy away from the things that really matter.

--

This is what a “game planning” session looks like. I need to get set up for success and that means having appropriate expectations for myself. Then, having someone to hold me accountable to the plan.

--

I have a coach, and if you are finding yourself needing some help making sure you stay on track and enjoy the moments as they happen.

How To [Always] Find Time For Your Fitness

Have you uttered the phrase “I don’t have time to workout”?

Many believe they don't have enough time to work out.

That’s exactly why they never create a fitness routine.

But here's what’s really happening…

Your brain is postponing the responsibility of creating a consistent routine because life is busy.

So in the moment, it’s easier to commit to doing it "later" than it is to establish a plan to get started now.

And with so much on our plates with work, family, and social life postponing is the path of least resistance.

But…

It’s costing many people the things they want most: Things like:

* Losing that remaining 20lbs so you feel like yourself again
* Feeling stronger and seeing a more toned body
* Living a better lifestyle so you feel energized and focused
* Being more active with your kids (you’re not getting any younger)
* Living healthier and taking care of yourself (you only get one shot)

The truth is, choosing a time either before or after work just three times a week is all it takes to hit your health & fitness goals.

And 3 workouts each week is all it takes.

A very simple goal but hard to execute...especially if you're used to postponing your start date.

But if you're ready to start, we are looking for people that want to get back in shape and are looking for a structured plan to follow!

If you’re done feeling off track with your fitness, then click the link in our bio to learn more about our coaching program.

We are rooting for you.

One of our guys @brock_bowman
…on the road long hauling these next three weeks.

We have a plan for mobility, body weight workouts and rucking from where the load takes him.

An unpredictable schedule doesn’t mean you have to let everything fall by the waist side.

If you are having trouble sticking to a plan let us help.

That’s literally half of what we do.

To some this may be nothing special. But this gal has been pushing her boundaries since the day she showed up. And today she jump for for first time that she could remember.

Give it up to her for daring greatly to recapture her youth.

At Echelon, every workout has its own stimulus and inside every workout is an individual that we’re trying to call up to something to challenge their ability (sometimes heart or lungs or muscular sometimes all three). But that can’t happen if we don’t know you. It’s our goal to know each one of our athletes and clients so well that we can make sure you get the most out of the three hours they spend with us.

This is why we say

Has this ever snuck up on you???

You were on your groove and then something always gets in the way...

But then (even for me) - real life kicks in - like a work projects, kids schedules, or even a vacation throws you off track with regular exercise.

Why does it feel like consistency with fitness takes so much work?

At times it can feel easier to do anything at all or wait until you magically feel more motivated.

But the truth is, prioritizing your personal health care is never going away. It's something you have to own & fight to prioritize for the rest of your life.

No one can do it for you.

We’re all in this fitness boat together! And accepting that it's normal for there to be times where it'll be harder to be consistent.

So during those times it's so valuable to be inside a coaching program.

A program that remove the time and energy it takes to:

Plan your workouts before going to the gym.
Select the exercises that are both fun and effective.
Create accountability and structure so you stay with it even when life gets busy (because we know it will).

A coaching program removes the work and time that prevents you from staying consistent. It helps you actually accomplish the results you want.

If you know you want a program like this, click the link in our bio to learn more about our coaching program or click here ( www.crosfitechelon.com).

WE ARE JUST UNDER 30 DAYS UNTIL MEMORIAL DAY MURPH!

Here are a couple things we want you to start thinking about N O W ! ! ! ! !

1️⃣ Hydrate like it was your job:

Because this is Memorial Day, we frequently gather for some “good living”: booze, sunshine, and crazy food consumption.

This can really hurt if your not prepared.

Start hydrating two days beforehand.

Not only will it get you through all those barbecues, but it’ll pay off when you set foot on the starting line on Memorial Day.

2️⃣ Don’t do this fasted (or even partially fueled):

Fuel up with a smaller meal, some carbohydrates and electrolytes well beforehand.

AVOID TOO MUCH CAFFEINE !!!

Do not attempt to run Murph on an empty stomach—that’s a recipe for passing out—but also not on a full stomach. Ask a coach if you need some help getting this right.

Especially if this is your first date with Murph.

3️⃣ Scale it to your ability & Have a Plan:

This huge endeavor, with literally tens of
thousands of people doing it around the Nation, do an honest assessment of how well you can handle this workload, and scale the exercises so you can get through the reps appropriately, safely and not ruin the rest of the weekend.

We will have cheat sheets for you to score with and you and if you need help to choose the right Murph variation for you...if not, lets do it this upcoming week.

4️⃣ Chill Out & Have Fun:
This is a tough endurance workout.

Murph demands a smart strategy to prevent your engine from overheating.
In order to prevent a heat injury or mild Rhabdo--be in the shade/inside, try to get in pray for a breeze, set up in the path of a fan and/or take frequent (but small)water breaks.

But most all stay calm, stay as cool as possible and enjoy the celebration.

5️⃣ We have Shirts....last day to pre order is May 18...so you can wear yours on Memorial Day.

Cant wait to see you guys take on this ICONIC

These might just be data points for some.

But these FIVE pounds of muscle has been hard fought.

This is from one of our members, Tyler.

He has been dedicated to 3 days a week of with us for 11 months and keeping limber with a yoga class a week.

It hasn't been easy... I would say that it is harder for an ectomorph (naturally lean,
more of a slender frame and a very fast metabolism) to gain muscle.

He started out unsure of his ability to do hard work.

In fact, when he first started his chief was that he didn't know if he could actually use a barbell.

Fast forward to last week, 4.5 pounds of sheer muscle, 100# increase in his deadlift, and can wakeboard all day.

I would say thats a win.

Give a huge shout out to Tyler with a GIF or an emoji in the comment section.

And if you are like Tyler, and want to change how your body looks and prepare your body for the rigors of life, tap the link in our bio and talk to a coach today.
