Guess what?
The criteria many providers still use to diagnose Polycystic O***y Syndrome is outdated.
The old-school Rotterdam criteria has been used for years to diagnose PCOS, but it does not reflect what current research tells us about this complex metabolic and hormonal disorder.
The name of PCOS finally changed to reflect this disorder more accurately to PMOS, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, BUT this doesn't mean others truly understand the complexity of this disorder.
And that matters.
Because too many women are still being told they “don’t have PMOS” because they don’t check enough boxes…
or they’re diagnosed based on an ultrasound alone.
Here’s the truth:
PMOS is not just about ovarian cysts or irregular periods.
You can have PMOS without classic cysts on ultrasound.
You can have seemingly “normal” cycles and still have significant metabolic dysfunction.
And many women are being overlooked because outdated diagnostic criteria fail to capture the full picture.
What current research shows us is that PMOS is strongly tied to:
✨ Insulin resistance
✨ Metabolic dysfunction
✨ Inflammation
✨ Androgen imbalance
✨ Disrupted hormone signaling
If you’ve been dismissed, told your labs are “normal,” or know something is off with your body…
Trust that instinct.
Your symptoms deserve more than a checklist.

Sometimes the issue isn’t that you don’t have answers.
It’s that medicine is still asking outdated questions.
