On your journey acknowledge yourself for
- staying consistent
- having more energy
- mood boost
- dropping the first 5lbs

- eating out and not feeling guilt
- getting stronger
- clearer skin

In honor of Valentine’s Day ♥️

You can not hate yourself into a version Of yourself that you love
[READ THAT AGAIN]

What you fixate on grows.

You can’t look in the mirror and say negative things about yourself everyday and have those thoughts floating around in your subconscious mind. When you fixate on your flaws, that becomes all you see.

Words and thoughts are like seeds, whatever you focus on will grow

Practice positive self talk- just start to point out the things you do love about yourself, even if it’s only 1 thing.

Reframe your negative thoughts- if you don’t like something instead of saying “I hate _____”. Tell yourself “I am working/healing/progressing on ______”.

Hype yourself up- you should be your biggest cheerleader! Every morning get excited for whatever the day has. Repeat positive affirmations and listen to your favorite hype music.

Stop comparing yourself to others- you are exactly where you are meant to be right now. Fall in love with the process, keep your head down, stay in your lane and work!

You have the power to change the perception of yourself, nobody else.
And who cares about what people think of you, this is your life!
So give yourself all the love, kindness and grace!

Are you eating enough protein?

You know you need to eat protein for proper health, but how much?

You hear from the big buff guy at the gym “protein, protein, protein.”
And then the zen yoga instructor says
“You can get enough protein from greens.” There’s so many opinions on how much protein each individual should be consuming.

So we’ll just give you our little formula,
Because why not 🤷
(DISCLAIMER we are not dieticians so you should always consult with a doctor)

Typically we suggest consuming daily8- 1.2g of protein per pound of body weight.

For example:
You weigh 150lbs, your protein intake should be anywhere between 120g-180g

Now every person will be so different, but this is a good guideline. Most of you will find that you WAY under eat this.

But remember
Protein is responsible for building a repairing tissues, enzymes, and hormone function.
Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin and blood.

Protein also can make you feel fuller longer.

Is protein really that important??

Hey… how empty is your cup?

When was the last time you did something for yourself?
With out the guilt?

We live in a society that praises putting ourselves last.
Tired mamas who never have time for themselves were it as a badge of honor.
Busy young professionals that have work deadlines, conferences and put in 80hr work weeks complain yet, never change.

The thing is eventually your cup runs dry and there’s nothing left to give. More times than not you’re in debt.

But I want to tel you it’s ok to ask for help.
It’s ok to put yourself first.
It’s ok to take a break.

In fact it’s necessary.

My kids are watching me more than they’re listening and I want them to see me take care of myself physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Because on day they will be grown women and I want them to never lose sight of their worth. That even though life has many pressures, that above all how they are doing matters. And in order to give to another they have to be solid in themselves.

So whether you have kids or not this applies to you.
You are worthy of a rich, full life 💕 and that requires you to be responsible for that outcome.

Let’s skip the feeling bad about yourself & move right in to:
- I am grateful for the foods I got to eat
- I enjoyed spending time with family & friends
- I am grateful today I can get back to my normal routines and schedules
- I am grateful for all the abundance in my life

Great! Now that you have practiced some gratitude,
- Start your day with 20oz of water
- If you can start your day with exercise or a walk, do that
- eat a balanced breakfast (carbs, protein, fat and some fiber)
- Fill the kitchen with nutritious and delicious food that fit your lifestyle
- listen to music your love or a positive podcast

And remember the holiday choices are in the past, today is a new day ✌🏼

Your body isn’t broken

I can’t tell you how many times people share that they’re body is messed up, broken, doesn’t work etc.

Whether it’s not being able to lose weight, constantly feeling tired, poor digestion, aches & pains— the list goes on.

And what I always ask—

Is it fighting against you or is it trying to tell you something and you’re not listening?

👉🏼 When your body tells you it needs rest are you giving it or are you pushing past it?

👉🏼 Are you perpetually dieting,
eating 1,200 calories? Shoving low calorie high-volume foods down your throat and then complaining about feeling bloated 24/7?

👉🏼 When your digestion is off and you know it, but you’re unwilling to make the changes necessary to help it. So you just continue eating any and all foods.

Hello! Your body is giving you signals all the time!

It LOVES to talk and tell you how you can best support it, but often, we run in the opposite direction interpreting its chatter as being "lazy" or saying something is “Wrong" with it.

In reality, it's often working overtime
downregulating processes, allocating
resources it's not receiving
(ex: proper nutrition, rest), & doing what it needs to keep you alive.

Instead of growing in frustration with it what if you took a second and asked it “hey body, what do you need from me today?”

The body does amazing things when you allow it to be heard.
Your body is in your favor it always has been, it’s just waiting for you to be on its side too 💛

Is tomorrow the day you decided to start AGAIN?

We talk to people everyday who tell us “I just can’t seem to start. I think about it everyday and then everyday I don’t do anything!”

Analysis by Paralysis.
Or in other words…
Trying to go from 0-100 🏃‍♀️

Why this doesn’t work...

It’s overwhelming and sets you up for failure.

You know you need to start exercising, but choosing to workout 5x a week is not only scary its unrealistic with your schedule, energy and time.

💥 Instead of going all in like that, Decide to exercise twice a week and schedule it in to your week.
(And if you’re not a morning person, choosing 5am is not realistic)

Are you getting the point?

When we know we need to 180 🔁 our life it seems more important to flip it completely, but often times that 0-100 approach will not last and you will end up right back where you started 😞

Just because someone posts their progress pics claiming that peloton & the keto diet gave them their results doesn’t mean you should do the same.

It’s all so easy to focus on the outcome rather than the journey it took to get there.

What any work for one doesn’t work for all.

Stop searching for the best diets/ workouts.

The best is…
☝🏼 something sustainable
☝🏼 something you enjoy
☝🏼 suits your lifestyle
☝🏼 positive impacts your health & mental health

There is not one superior diet that will get you to your results.

Next time someone says ___ worked for me. Take it with a grain of salt and look at the whole picture.

Ask yourself? Can I see myself DOING ___ long term?
