I want to hear your why, why did you start on your nail journey?

For me, I remember being in Cosmetology class which was just on the other side of the wall to the Nail Tech class wishing I was in the Nail Tech class. Although I finished with Cosmetology and got my license to be a Cosmetologist I’ve always gravitated to doing nails.

From doing my friends nails and nail art with just the brush from the polish bottle ( I’ve since acquired nail art brushes since the time I was 12 🤪 )

Nails have always been my jam no matter what part of a salon I worked in. Serving others and doing nail art has always been a great therapeutic outlet for me.

If you're thinking about it for more than a minute, I'm going to politely interrupt you and say yes!

You absolutely are unique and I'm going to give you 5 reasons why:

1. you do things differently than everyone else (dive deep into what that is)

2. your life experiences have shaped your thoughts and ideas

3. you see your creative work through your own eyes

4. you are in a different chapter of your nail journey than anyone else

5. you have your own style of art that makes you identifiable (even the way you take pictures & video of nails can be an art form)

(Fun fact about number 3 - even though someone else might have brown eyes just like you do, did you know that they don't have the same exact brown? Fascinating right?! Your eye color is like your fingerprint, totally unique to you)

-Ask them what they want⁠

Reason: You don't want to waste your time creating something that people don't want or won't use. Use your time to do market research and ask the right questions.⁠

Example: Cuticle Oil> what kind of oil?⁠

-Ask them why they want it⁠

Reason: This will help you determine why they feel they need it. It will also help you reach other people and have the right wording when you're trying to appeal to more clients.⁠

Example: Dry cuticles> hangnails > healthy nails⁠

-How they want it⁠

Reason: People may be interested in a product or service but they might want it delivered to them in a certain way.⁠

Example: Cuticle Pen or Roller?⁠

React in real-time as much as possible to your audience's thoughts and opinions on social media and you'll continue to form trusting and authentic relationships with your customers & clients.⁠

I mean the good kind, the healthy kind. We sometimes avoid doing this sometimes because goal-oriented professionals can tend to be all work and little play.

I know firsthand I can be looking at a computer most of the day, accomplish an entire list of tasks, and never really take a second to reflect on what I accomplished.

Have you ever been stick in the cycle of wake up, work, sleep, rinse and repeat?

As your nail business continues to grow look back on what you've done and accomplished with a smile. If you made progress it means you had the courage to fail.
