Who does this belong to?
As a mom I’ve probably said this more times than I can count. It’s usually in response to toys left on the floor or something still in the refrigerator.
Several years ago I found another use for this question. It gets rid of “sticky” energy. I’m talking about the angry person you walk next to, sad student in your class, the tired person driving on the road.
These sensations and emotions can rub off on other people. Before you know it, you feel depressed or anxious and don’t know why.
Whenever you are feeling an emotion ask yourself. “Who does this belong to?” If it lightens up, it’s not yours. Give it back. Not sure what that means or how to do that? I’d love to talk to you more about it. Send me a message and I’ll help you.
