Family Dinner at Northern Farmhouse Pasta last night and it was so, so delicious!
You can’t come here and not order the baked clams. You just can’t!
Big had Lamb Ragu and I had the most delicate Adriatic Fish Stew, while Miss Harper had fettuccini with butter and cheese, and her “Italy Bacon.”
“Italy Bacon” was what she called prosciutto and melon when we were in Italy, and almost three years later, she’s still a fan! 😂
If you’re coming through the Catskills and my hometown of Roscoe, I hope you’ll make time - and a reservation - to stop by and see the Eckert family at NFP! 🫶

And then peep the first comment here to see what I scored on clearance!

Sunday supper in the winter is a labor of love. 🥰
And this, spaghetti à la vongole, is my favorite kind of pasta and a little love from my husband! 🫶
He sautéed clams, garlic, shallot, clam juice, white wine, and a little fresh basil in a pan - both simple and perfect at the same time. 💚

Do you have a favorite meal someone else makes for you? What is it?

A very necessary evening on the couch, but with a new friend! 👀
Introducing the Lexitini — bright, tart, and just dramatic enough to deserve my favorite vintage Murano martini glasses.

Recipe:
• 1 1/2 oz Do Good Spirits vodka
• 1 oz pomegranate juice
• 3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1/2 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau is perfect)

Shake with ice, strain into your prettiest glass, and voila! Equal parts polished and playful — just how we like it. 🍸

Light, bright, and doing the absolute most for a random weeknight. ✨

Citarella Fluke baked with a crunchy breadcrumb topping, seasoned with Victoria Gourmet zesty lemon herb, then finished with a little pile of arugula and cherry tomatoes tossed in a quick salad dressing I whisked together. The fish comes out delicate and flaky, the topping is golden and crisp, and the arugula gets just soft enough from the heat.

One of those dinners that somehow feels both effortless and a little fancy, which frankly is my favorite category of food. 🙌

What is your favorite fancy, effortless dinner?

THIS IS A WIN! 🎉
I *so* wanted to order takeout after a long day in the office, but I stopped and got a piece of fish and then… I really over complicated the whole meal. 😂
I baked a piece of cod… then decided it needed a caper white wine sauce.
I wanted some wild rice… then decided I needed to fortify it with sautéed onions and garlic.
I wanted green beans… then decided I needed to make the almandine.

It ended up being an hour of cooking but the result was delicious and… mostly worth it? 😉

Do you over-complicate cooking too? What are your ways to simplify weeknight cooking?

😉

False spring energy 😎 = salad for dinner energy! 🥗
Peppery arugula, red + Belgian endive, sweet citrus segments, pops of pomegranate, and perfectly cooked shrimp (all sourced from Citarella) with Victoria Gourmet zesty lemon herb seasoning. Bright, crunchy, a little zippy — basically the edible version of that first 60° day when everyone suddenly remembers joy. 🥰

If winter comes back next week… at least we had this. 😎

Are you getting excited about the warmer days ahead?

The champagne and sushi were delicious, the live music was a vibe, the Delamar Greenwich Harbor beds always make for the best sleep, and this morning’s latte-in-a-wine-glass moment was EPIC. 🫶 But honestly?

This open sunroof and 60° air for the first time all year is what’s really giving us life heading into the back half of tax season. 😎

A little night away to rest, recharge, and get ready to head into both of our busy seasons. 🫶

Was it warm where you are today? Are you getting those springtime vibes? 🌱

Hot take or universal truth: apples taste better when they’re cut? 🍏
Same apple, but slice it up and suddenly it’s crisper, sweeter, and somehow just… better. 🤷‍♀️
Is it the texture? The little ritual of it? I don’t know the science, but I stand by it.

Hot take… or do you prefer cut apples, too?

When you want something reliably delicious without turning on your own stove, Cosimo's Brick Oven is the move. 🙌
Tonight it’s red snapper in a bright red sauce with capers and Kalamata olives, spooned over creamy polenta with a side of broccoli rabe. It’s savory and comforting in all the right ways!
Sometimes the best cooking decision is letting Cosimo’s do the cooking. 🍽️
And no, this isn’t . Just genuine appreciation for this dinner - and the leftovers I’ll have for lunch tomorrow! 😎

What do you think? Would you try this snapper dish?
