There’s a special kind of joy that shows up when young people feel supported, seen, and free to be themselves.

We’re all about creating safe, welcoming spaces where youth of all ages, from the littlest learners to teens preparing for what’s next, can build confidence, learn tools for wellness, and just breathe.

This afternoon at the Elizabethport Community Center, we’re offering two sessions of our Youth Wellness Workshop at 4:00 and 5:30 PM. Participants will create their own Wellness Recovery Action Plans to help them manage stress and take care of their mental health.

Then at 5:30, we’ll shift into To Be Me is to Be Drug Free—an open, empowering space focused on making healthy choices and being proud of who you are.

That smile? That’s what it looks like when kids know they’re supported—and when they know they matter.

Not all disabilities are visible, and that doesn’t make them any less REAL.

In “Invisible Disability and Mental Health: Being Seen, Heard, and Supported,” Alex Cadillo (they/them) shares powerful insight into the daily experiences of those living with invisible conditions—and how mental health is impacted when others don’t see what you're carrying.

This conversation is a call to believe, support, and uplift those whose struggles often go unseen.

The work you see is only possible because of the work you don’t.

Behind every program we run and every service we offer is a team committed to doing things better, every single day.

That’s why we’ve strengthened the tools and systems that guide our operation (from quality improvement planning to compliance reporting) to make sure our services remain safe, ethical, and effective.

We’re investing in clearer standards, stronger accountability, and confidential ways for our team to raise concerns and drive change.

When our internal operations are strong, our community services thrive!

Join us on Tuesday, July 22nd from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Secaucus Recreation Center (1200 Koelle Blvd, Secaucus, NJ) for this important community gathering.

This week, Morgan Thompson and Cindy Charles of Prevention Links had the honor of meeting with the Honorable Judge Dara Aquila Govan, the newly appointed Recovery Court Judge in County of Union, New Jersey, along with members of her dedicated team.

Together, we discussed shared goals for supporting individuals navigating the recovery process through the court system and beyond.

Judge Govan’s leadership—and the work of her team, including Recovery Court Coordinator Mathew Hagler, Trial Court Administrator Devang Merchant, Criminal Division Manager Michael Jan, and others—represents a powerful commitment to second chances, accountability, and community-based support.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and strengthen the recovery ecosystem in Union County. Change happens when systems align, and this meeting was a step forward.
