ZERO/Us TOO offers hope to the prostate cancer community through educational resources, support services and personal connections provided at no charge. With your help this season, we can empower others with knowledge and give the gift of hope. Alana and Steve Vanater, prostate cancer caregiver and her warrior share, “Us TOO’s a Forum for Her support group for caregivers has been a godsend for me. Since my husband’s diagnosis of stage IV prostate cancer, I’ve participated in other support groups, but nothing compares to connecting with other women who are going through the same thing. I have found such great support and friendship from this group, which is invaluable to me. We share experiences and knowledge, which not only helps everyone in the support group, but also helps the ones we love the most. I am very grateful to have found this group."

As the year comes to a close, please donate to help ZERO/Us TOO empower those like Alana and Steve with the knowledge and support necessary to make informed decisions on managing all aspects of prostate cancer. Theirs is just one story in our growing community of friends across the country who need our support. Please visit www.ustoo.org/holidayhope2021 today.

All donations made to ZERO/Us TOO will be matched up to $150,000 until December 31st! That is double the positive impact we will be able to make in the lives of those affected by prostate cancer.

ZERO/Us TOO offers hope to the prostate cancer community through educational resources, support services and personal connections provided at no charge. With your help this season, we can empower others with knowledge and give the gift of hope. Jerry Deans, prostate cancer survivor, former Us TOO board member and his wife and caregiver Patsi share, "I was first diagnosed with prostate cancer over 20 years ago at age 50. Since that diagnosis, I have been through numerous treatments, none of which were able to fully stop the growth of my cancer. The advice I was being given after unsuccessful surgery and radiation, was that I would be able to add only about two and a half years to my life with androgen deprivation and chemotherapy. From a depressed and desperate position, I picked up a brochure outside my oncologist’s office and began to speak to Peter Moon of the Richmond, VA Us TOO Support Group. Peter shared that the advice I had received was seriously flawed. I decided to go to the next support group meeting to hear Dr. Snuffy Myers and learn what I could do to slow down the growth of my cancer. With new knowledge and support, I was able to work with my doctor to get on a 30-year survival plan. That was many years ago now. Today, my fight continues, but with support services and educational resources on my side, my knowledge and my friendship are my power.”

Please donate to help ZERO/Us TOO empower those like Jerry and Patsi with the knowledge and support necessary to make informed decisions on managing all aspects of prostate cancer. Theirs is just one story in our growing community of friends across the country who need our support.

As you are likely already aware, Us TOO has now become a part of ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer. The completed merger offers an opportunity for us to streamline our efforts to provide the most important prostate cancer information to the greatest possible audience. Along those lines, here are key updates on what you can expect:

As previously announced, the News You Can Use newsletter will be retired after December 2021. For those who are looking for the latest prostate cancer news, it can now be found on the ZERO website at https://zerocancer.org/learn/prostate-cancer-news. This page is updated regularly, so be sure to bookmark it and check back often.

Our final Hot SHEET will be issued in December, and then it will be officially retired. The Hot SHEET has served our community well over many years, which is why we are continuing key content as a part of the ZERO Hour monthly e-newsletter. ZERO Hour will be expanded to take on some of your favorite Hot SHEET features. These include the Between the Sheets insert supplement, Dr. Mark Moyad’s column – “No Bogus Science,” and expanded listings and resources to benefit the entire community. ZERO Hour is an electronic publication that will be emailed and available on ZERO’s website. Please note, there is no print distribution of this newsletter.

On the website front, we are migrating the most highly utilized pages and content from Us TOO’s website into ZERO’s website. As of January 1, 2022, the Us TOO website will forward to ZERO’s website at www.zerocancer.org. As a result, ZERO’s website will be the single destination for all support, education, and advocacy needs for our community.

In addition, the Us TOO social channels including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn will be pointed to ZERO’s social channels where you will find the latest information, resources, and ways to connect with the greater prostate cancer community. Please follow us on ZERO’s channels, as there is no direct way to merge pages on social media. Please note, the Us TOO Inspire Online Community will continue under the ZERO name at zero.inspire.com.

Lastly, the www.prostatecancercalendar.org site will continue to be a valuable calendar resource for use by the entire prostate cancer community.

To streamline communication, all Us TOO emails have moved to ZERO. The main ZERO email is info@zerocancer.org. If you are currently an Us TOO subscriber and email recipient, then you will continue to get ZERO email with no disruption. We expect that these changes will strengthen our outreach to provide very clear and direct support and education for the prostate cancer community. If there are any questions or concerns, please email info@zerocancer.org. Thank you for your continued support!
